Mad Catz RAT4 Wired Optical Adjustable Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac with 9 Programmable Buttons（Black）

This is the older Rat 4 not the newer Rat 4+. Both look & weigh the same (90 grams w/o cable). The newer + version will cost you about $16 more. So if you want a higher DPI, more ambient lighting choices & an upgraded Pixart 3330 sensor spending the extra $16 may be worth it. Otherwise the older Rat 4 is a good choice.The driver/software for the older rats like the 4 is now available on Mad Catz website. However, unlike the newer +rats the older software is no longer supported. It works fine for me but it can have a few quirks. For example, I set up the buttons for Battlefield & when I click on "Battlefield" entry I get a Load/Error message. I can't delete the BF entry even after deleted & reinstalling the driver/software. Since then I've added several games w/o any problems but the original faulty Battlefield entry still shows up.I like the firm feel of the buttons & the adjustable palm rest. The mouse is accurate during game play & is usable for ever day use as well. The Rat 4 is a bit wider than other mice so if you have smaller hands it may not be comfortable. My hands are average width so for me its a comfortable mouse, just a different feel.

New Review: Update: Holding true after several months. This is the best designed mouse I've ever used. I'm a freelance designer, so I like to surround myself with well designed stuff to help fuel my process. This mouse is one of those things. It's not a gamer mouse, because it's not heavy. It's a designer's mouse because it's the perfect mid weight and solid as a rock. Solid clicks, lightweight, and wide (so no crabby hand). It looks and feels like a well designed weapon. I love it.Old Review (still valid):I keep hearing rumors this company is "out of business" then "back in business". I'm not sure. I've always loved this company's products. This mouse is so awesome. It's medium sized, lightweight, and feels solid. The buttons click with that perfect feedback and tiny audible click. You know that sweet perfect click feeling. All other features work as well. Mousewheel is smooth yet has that perfect sequential bumpy scroll feel. I love this mouse.

It is a very nice mouse that looks great, has good functionality, and feels nice in my hand. At least it did until I accidentally broke off the pinky rest (with minimal force by the way) and the left mouse button decided one day from now on when holding it down it will randomly release itself.

I've owned three R.A.T. gaming mice, First was a 7, that lasted four years , then I got a 6 and I got a 4 for my laptop. The precision is excellent and the adjustable options for your hand is the man reason I continue to buy these. I one low score is there software to change up the macros is very hard to configure, still trying to contact them to resolve this issue. The software is just not user friendly. I wish Windows 10 had a better mouse configuration to take advantage of the extra mouse buttons. Other than that I'll still buy from them

it takes a bit to get use to the feel of it but once you do its pretty good. the page back and forward buttons are in a good place but the sniper button is a little too far forward. changing the dpi is very easy on the fly but the softwhere is a little iffy.

This is going to seem like a bot review but it’s not. I didn’t realize the last time I bought this mouse was like 4 Years ago. It just broke finally. This is heavy use for years. I sometimes drink alcohol and game and this mouse withstood that kind of abuse for years. I’m decent at gaming and often am at the top of the board in many shooters. Love this mouse. I ordered 2 more after mine broke.

Several years ago I owned a RAT 3 that lasted me all that time through some hard gaming and finally gave out( I LOVED that mouse). I have tried to replace that with that same longevity in mind, it looks, feels and handles the same but the construction, I will see on this most recent order. I have since gone through 2 in about a year. Not sure I will go back to it. Purchased 7/2019, dead 7/2020

I've been wanting to try this mouse for sometimes and finally got around to it. It looks cool in person. The ergonomics are not bad. My hand immediately got used to the mouse. The weight is agreeable, nothing too fancy. I love the clicks and the scrolling wheel on it though. They are very comfortable. I bought this mouse to play League of Legend with so I don't really use the other buttons and functions. It's a great mouse in my opinion.

My last RAT7 lasted me almost 6 years and they make great products! I'm so happy with my replacement RAT4 it's so awesome! Excellent quality gaming mouse for a budget price! ;) Works and looks amazing and who doesn't love a bargain with this great low Amazon price :) Very happy indeed...
