What is the diameter of the base of it (i have an 11" induction burner i am having trouble finding anything big enough to get it to turn on!)

bottom diameter is 9.5". I have a 11" induction cooker - this skillet works perfectly.

Has anyone purchased the gray version of amazon basics cast iron enameled? the web makes it look blue/green with hint of gray. what is the true color?

Yes, it has a blue green tint. It’s almost a dark aqua. But it’s beautiful.

My skillet just arrived and has a very small chip near the handle. Do these normally stay small or more enamel may chip off in that area?

It depends on the quality of the enamel (I returned this item for other reasons, so these comments are based on experience with other pots). The pan may discolor where the chip is, and you may risk the “wound” getting larger now that the finish is compromised. If the finish is top-drawer tough, the pot may be fine for many years. But if the blemish bugs you, by all means exchange the pot for a perfect one. It’s your kitchen and your tools!

Has anyone had issues with the enamel peeling/chipping over time? I see that flaw reported on the dutch oven version from Amazon Basics

I've only had this pan for 1 month. It's been used about every other day either on the stove top (glass top) or in the oven. So far it looks as good as the day I got it. (Which is perfect)
