I use this holster for going in the field in northern Michigan for hunting and scouting. It is a quality holster that has great firearm retention and protects the firearm. This holster will wear the finish off of your firearm at certain contact points. Mine has wornjust behind the barrel bushing on both sides of the frame. I use this holster for a Remington R1.

Love this holster. I ordered it for range practice and it's exactly what I hoped for. I took out the screws on the belt portion to be able to hook it over my tactical belt. It's got great grip on the belt portion even without having to thread my belt through it. It works beautifully with a 4" 1911. The release is just right - not too hard, not too easy. And the overall fit and profile is perfect. Can't recommend this enough. I also thought the price was just right.

While I don't wear one of these for duty, I do use it for tactical training classes.Pros:- Fit my 1911 full size with no adjustment necessary.- SERPA release is an excellent passive restraing system. Activating the release is simple and leaves the trigger finger exactly where it needs to be (along the frame)- solid construction - heavy kydex.- Versatile - will fit a 1911 with rail if required.- great placement - sits the pistol a couple of inches lower than a belt slide - makes for easier draw and re-holster.Cons:- It's set up for duty gear - place it, screw it in, don't mess with it. I don't use it like that - so getting set up takes some extra time.Overall a great holster for training/duty.

I didn't like the lower ride of this holster and it didn't feel right when I pulled the weapon. It seemed to pull out at the bottom, throwing my weapon closer in to my side. I have several other Blackhawk holsters and still like the company and the quality, but this one was just not for me.

It is best to buy Blackhawk, knockoffs just dont do it. It is a well built holster with many extras that make it even more versital. I will buy again.
