Not worth even that small money
Keep your hands off! Obviously Bower changed the design of the adapter tube. This one doesn't fit at all. The bayonett is too tight and the shape of the 'dents' is incorrect so that the tiny knob for fixing the adapter tube resp. the accessory ring doesn't jump out again when you screw it on to the very end. So you might loose the tube incl. filter or lens during shooting or even damage your G9/G7. Also the strenght of the metal changed nearly to 'paper". You better should buy a Lensmate adapter or the Bower A58G7C of the old design (in the yellow/grey box) which fits perfect and the material is nearly double as thick as the late one.

Buy the Canon part, not this junk
I got one of these to allow me to use filters with a Canon G9, which it did just fine. Then I got a telephoto converter lens for Christmas, and the threads on this adapter were too shallow to hold the lens in place, requiring me to buy the Canon adapter anyway. Once I did, I realized what a piece of junk this is.This tube comes in two parts; for wide angle shots the extender piece must be removed to avoid vingetting; for zoom shots the extender piece must be added to avoid the lens striking the filter. The Canon tube is just the right length to work at any zoom, meaning you don't have to constantly add and remove filters to change zooms. The Canon adapter fits converter lenses as well as filters. And lastly, the Canon adapter weighs less as well.In conclusion, the Canon adapter weighs less, does more, and is easier to use. Did I mention it was cheaper? Canon G9 Adapter
