Great product, even for beginners.
This is our first rock tumbler. We have used it for 1 full cycle of polishing. It is very sturdy and durable. I love the large size/capacity.

This Tumbler does not work.
I have two of the smaller tumblers and they work great. This one does not work at all.i think the metal case is built off center and the tumbler stays on the left side of the case. This prevents it from turning at all. Hen I first saw that it wasn't,t turning, it was terribly hot and I am glad I found it before it caught fire.

Very nice !
This is my first (new ) tumbler ,I have an older one of the same model that was given to me from a family member !It was not assembled properly and was left set for years, out side in the sun for one year, it still worked ! When I received this new one and the instructions ,It helped with the old one run like new, Smoother, not quieter, like the new one, VERY GOOD TO HAVE !

Want to produce 50-100 pounds of tumbled rock a year? Buy a QT-12.
I've only completed one tumble so far but am looking forward to many more. The QT12 holds a lot of rock, which i love. It's quiet enough I run it indoors in the room next to where i sleep and i find the tumbling sound very relaxing. The thick rubber barrel is very durable and I haven't had any issues with leaks or keeping the lid secure. The motor generates some heat, but in Winter at least nothing alarming. Will keep an eye on it in the Summer dog days but I don't expect any problems. The instruction manual is basic but informative, and explains the standard technique with grit / stage information and basic tips. Expect some trial and error to get a good shine on different types of rock.If you're on a budget you should be aware that the price of the tumbler will eventually be eclipsed by the cost of tumbling media (grit) and polish, even if you hound your own rocks. If you intend to buy rocks, figure in that expense as well. Also be aware that tumbling involves a significant investment of time, not only the weeks spent waiting for stages to complete, but time spent cleaning your barrel, washing and sorting rocks, etc. Still, the results of a good tumble are beautiful and virtually timeless.

It does a great job and is nice and quiet
It does a great job and is nice and quiet. It has ran 24 hours a day sense i got it out of the box about 30 days ago. Well worth the price.

great tumbler
I used it for large quantities of silver, brass, bronze and nickel silver jewelry. It is quiet, can run for hours without the motor getting noticeably hot. Did a great job on deburring and polishing, using steel shot. I also used plastic tumbling media in it, with aluminum pieces.

Very well made, and large
This thing has been running continuously for two months now and just keeps going. The rocks I am polishing are on the last part of the polish and will be finished next week maybe. It turns ordinary rocks into jewelry.... very well made and simple to operate...Fun hobby !
