When you need the Uber Vest, go Fishpond Wildhorse
As expected, this fishpond vest has met or exceeded my expectations. This is the second fishpond vest, of this 'type', I've owned.I have one for Saltwater and one for Freshwater. My former freshwater vest, being a SIMMS, was a great vest, but it was very dark green and got very warm when the temperatures rose. It also didn't have an integrated backpack like this wildhorse fishpond does. I've used my saltwater fishpond vest extensively (Wasatch model), and it really is a great product, the integrated backpack is very valuable, especially when you're layering lighter clothing for coastal climates where it's colder in the a.m. and then the fog burns off.Fishpond is excellent at really thinking all the features through; Everything is where it should be and the ergonomics are always correct. The materials are top notch, very sturdy, dry very easily and also give you good ventilation in the back and shoulders. My only 'critique' is that I wish Fishpond would allow you more color choices, per vest style, and-or let you order them custom per vest type. They have a lighter, ivory white vest that would be really great but it only comes in a couple styles, whereas the Wildhorse or Wasatch are their larger packs, and being it is they're larger, you would think they'd offer the ivory white due to the darker colors generating more heat (And the larger packs, meaning your hauling more and they're heavier).Either way, I highly recommend these products, top notch quality, very well thought out and they should give you years of service.

Two Thumbs up!
I love this vest. It can be a bit heavy with full camping gear but it wears well and doesn't cause undue stress or pain. A very well thought out and manufactured product.

Comforatable as all get out!
Holds all my fly fishing stuff but is light and distributes the weight. I throw a collapsible spinning rod(for when the fly fishing is just not on), lunch, water and coffee and don't have to trek back to my truck. First rate quality, it has held up great!

Long Term....
This is a great designed vest that will serve me well into my twilight years. The price is a little on the high side but sometimes you have to pay for quality. I will be using it for steelhead and trips to remote fly streams. Time will te

excellant product
has so many pouches/pockets it is hard to use them all. light and easy to wear. only bas thing i can say is that the water holders should be more accessible from the front

Great Vest
This vest is categorized as a combo vest/day pack. However, due to the superior weight bearing, you don't notice the pack. The pack gives you the options to wander deeper into the woods and have those extra few granola bars (yeah, right) to keep you going. The pack is padded between the pack and your back, so if your buddy has one, you can stuff a few beers in there and he won't even notice (just make sure to grab them out when he heads off to the woods to imitate a bear). All in all, a great vest. Two issues, there is nothing to hang the water bladder on within the pocket where the bladder goes. Second, the hard case integrated fly pouches force you to fill those with extra flies. I have four fly boxes for the month of May on Penns Creek in PA. Switching out flies in those hard pouches is not gonna work. I'm on the look out for fly boxes that fit in there with the fly foam removed.Tons of extras on this thing and you can easily load it up and not feel it. Have tons of vests in my stash, but if I have to make that 7 mile hike into the Centennial Mountains, this is the one I would wear.

Excellent. I had the old style fish-pond pack from a decade ago-it finally wore out, this one will definitely carry me into the next 10+ years.
