โ Unbelievable suction power! A total game-changer for floors.
This vacuum is an absolute must-have! The suction power on the Dyson Ball Animal is incredible and handles deep cleaning like no other vacuum I've ever owned. It transitions seamlessly between hardwood and carpet, pulling up dirt, dust, and pet hair that you didn't even know was there. The ball design makes it super easy to maneuver around furniture despite being a powerful, heavy-duty upright. If you want pristine floors, this is worth every single penny. Highly recommend!

BEST VACUUM out there
No vaccum beats a Dyson. Dyson forgot to include a clip that holds an attachment so seller immediately gave me a refund to cover the cost of a new clip despite it being Dysonโs error. Dyson does not disappoint and neither did this seller!

Believe the hype
We have a medium hair German Shepherd and two long hair cats, and had a 5 year old Shark that was just not cutting it anymore. We went back and forth with should we get another Shark since we did like our old one, or spend the extra money and get what most reviews were saying to get. Well I am so glad we went with the Dyson. Iโve never had a vacuum with such strong suction. The stairs extension thing is awesome, our stairs have never looked so good. Our carpets look revived and have nice carpet lines again. The hard floor feature is awesome, I used to have to use the extension hose on the Shark and that was the only way I could vacuum the hardwood (because itโs hard floor feature wasnโt strong enough suction), but the Dyson suction is so strong it works perfectly upright. Iโm confident it is picking up all if not most animal hair in the house. Any little, minor complaint I would have about it (like the stiffness of the extension hose) is not even worth talking about because at the end of the day this vacuum has strong suction, and gets the job done better than any vacuum Iโve ever had or used. Also, I have a friend who has a cleaning business and she agrees that the best vacuum of them all is Dyson, and owns one herself. I would say the price difference between the Shark animal vacuum and the Dyson one is worth splurging on the Dyson. Itโs my new best friend.

A solid machine.
We recently replaced a DC15 that had served us long and well, but whose brush bar motor had died, with this model. It works as well or better in terms of basic function (meaning as a vacuum cleaner), and some parts of the design are improvements over that older model. I like that it's smaller and lighter weight - it's more maneuverable and can get closer to walls and further under furniture without using special attachments. I like the new upholstery/carpeted stairs attachment MUCH better than the old (sold separately) one - its brushes actually work, and it does a pretty decent job (the old one used the same technology, but was too heavy to be effective - any pressure on the brushes at all would cause them to stop spinning, so it was useless). I also like the new integrated brush/narrow wand tool for being so compact. And it's noticeably quieter (it's still a vacuum cleaner, so it ain't silent, but the motor is definitely less loud). I miss the foot pedal for unlocking the handle and starting the brush head. It made it much easier to tell if the vacuum was fully locked - with this model you can think you've locked it, but let go and it'll fall back over. I don't like the hose as much, either - it's much more awkward to put away than the old one, where the whole handle pulled out and snapped back in. The power cord also appears to be about a foot shorter, and I'm disappointed that it still must be both manually coiled and when stored prevents deploying the hose - sometimes you just need to pull out the hose to pick up something spilled in a small area, and it's a pain to have to deploy the entire cord, then wrap it all back up again after a minute of use. We've only had it for about 6 weeks at this point, so I can't speak to it's long term longevity. But if our previous Dyson vacuum is any indication, I expect it to last us at least a decade, if not longer - our first one was given as a wedding present in 2005, and for most of that time it was being used in a house with a great deal of carpet and far too many cats (as many as 13 at one point, most often 6), while being maintained only intermittently. I expect if we'd taken better care of it, or used it under less extreme conditions, it would still be in use now and for some time to come.

This is the most wonderful vacuum I have ever used
This is the most wonderful vacuum I have ever used. When I first moved out of my parent's house, I was given a hand-me-down Hoover that had seen better days. When I decided to buy a sweeper I got a Shark Rotator XL and it was almost as bad as my ancient Hoover. My grandpa bought me the Dyson for an engagement gift, and I can't say enough good things about it. The amount of dirt and hair that it picked up out of our rugs and carpet that the other sweeper left behind was scary. My carpet and rugs actually feel cleaner and softer after I'm done running the Dyson. It works great on hard wood floors too, which is primarily what we have in the house. I have two cats and a large dog and this sweeper picks up hair easily, even the hair that gathers right along the edge of the wall (the Shark did not, you had to use the attachment hose). The Dyson isn't super quiet, but it's not really a negative for me. I've definitely used noisier vacuums but I have used quieter ones as well. The people at Dyson made the vacuum smaller and more streamlined by storing the attachment hose in the handle, which is nice because it's not in your way, but it's not super easy to get out and put back in; however that wouldn't deter me from buying the Dyson, I think I just need more time to get used to it. If the price scares you, just know that there is a reason this vacuum is so expensive! It's worth it! My grandma still has the very first Dyson they ever released and my mom still has her second generation. Both still work as well as the day they got them.

This Animal has Amazing Suction Power!
With five indoor cats and many foster kittens, this is my go to vacuum cleaner. Product was delivered as expected. Well packaged. Easy to assemble if you follow the instructions provided. This vacuum has amazing suction power. When I got to a large area rug, I had to switch to the turbine attachment because the Dyson was sucking so hard, it would not move even when the rotating brushes were turned off. The turbine attachment made ease work of cleaning the rug. Word of caution, the turbine brushes move very fast. So, to avoid injury, turn off the vacuum cleaner when attaching and detaching the turbine attachment. Watch your fingers. There is not much room for error. The other tool attachments are easy to use and conveniently located on the vacuum cleaner. The long power cord made vacuuming easy in my small house. I did not have to move the cord from room to room. I just kept on vacuuming until my task was done. It is easy to move from carpet to bare floors by pushing the rotating brush button on and off. It was easy to empty the adequately sized bin. I LOVE this ANIMAL! If you have multiple pets in your home, this is the vacuum cleaner for you. There is no other.

1 star is generous
I previously owned a shark but thought I should try a Dyson because of its supposed superior design. There is almost nothing about it that I like. My shark actually vacuumed my home and left it clean and free of dog hair. The Dyson fails on almost every level. The worst part is the attachment. The hose itself takes a lot of effort to maneuver, but more than that, the design of the dust brush is such that the length of the bristles creates too much space, making the suction power incapable of suctioning up all the hair or dust. The vacuum is very hard to put in an upright position. You never know if it's locked or will fall down. When vacuuming a hardwood floor, it won't even suck up leaves. It sucks up *only* what you can position directly beneath it. Otherwise, it pushes and blows leaves around the house. Not very helpful. There are also area rugs that it cannot vacuum at all. It starts to suction and then overloads. I either have to get rid of the vacuum or the rug. The weight of the vacuum is so much heavier than most, which would be fine if it were better than other vacuums, but it's not. Also, it's very messy to empty. The design of the filter is good, very little gets stuck, but you do have to pull it out and unscrew the top almost every time and I can never get it to empty without dust scattering. Huge waste of money.

Worth the price
Bought my first dyson vacuum about 10 years ago. That one lasted about 8 years (my husband is a bit rough with appliances). Recently moved into a new house. Decided I didnโt want to spend the money for this vacuum again. Bought a shark something... for about $150. That vacuum lasted less than 8 months and blew a fuse (happened while husband was using it...I have no idea...). Anyway finally came to my senses and decided I could either spend the money on this vacuum I know I love, or spend twice as much money over 8ish years buying a new cheaper vacuum every year. Went back to my old friend Dyson. Yes, itโs pricey, but your carpet will be so clean, and it just donโt compare to the other vacuums that claim to never lose suction. The ONLY thing I wish they would improve is the hose length/elasticity as it doesnโt stretch very far when doing corners or stairs and I constantly forget and pull too far and knock the vacuum over. Still by far my favorite vacuum of all time!!

Good suction
Excellent product. Picks up all dog hairs. Nicely designed. Good suction. Value for money. Bit on heavy side but that is overcome by easy movement

A very good vacuum cleaner.
Having had problems in recent years getting something that actually does what it is meant to, it was a pleasant surprise to find this piece of kit actually works very well on a variety of surfaces. Absolutely delighted with it (we've had it for 2 weeks now and it has been used quite a few times already) Everything listed is very good - weight, suction, ease of use, noise. It maybe a bit more expensive that others, but it is excellent so far. Would we buy this again? YES!

Dyson animal vacuum
Wow what a vacuum, I have 2 hairy dogs, I use it every other day it cleans carpets and floors with ease, it is a bit heavier than some but it cleans great, it has several attachments to use all over the house and the stretch hose will go to the top of the stairs, this has been my best vacuum by far. The pile on the carpet looks new as it pulls up as you move.

It is a Dyson
Over 30 odd years I have had a few Dyson vacuums. They are excellent and considering mine have been used every day in homes with large dogs the performance is top notch. Due to EU regulations the motors are not as powerful as they once were. But performance is still very good and I would only use these as my main vacuum. I also have a lightweight cordless Vax for whizzing around between main cleans.
