Replace the strings, and then be patient with it.
The included strings were just horrible. I followed the advice of some other folks here, had it restrung by a professional, played it consistently for about a week, and it's now so addictive it takes a lot of discipline to put it down. It's a beautiful instrument and the sound once it breaks in is hauntingly deep and resonant and it's so playable I can play it with my eyes closed.

Great beginner guitar
I wanted a classical guitar but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I did research on what brands are decent on the internet and Cordoba got good reviews. I love the 7/8's size. I also love that it's mahogany (I have an old Fender Acoustic that's mahagony and it definitely improves with age). I love guitars, so I can say that it is obvious to me that this is a lower end guitar . That said, it is still a very nice looking guitar and I was very pleased with the tone! I would definitely recommend this to a beginner or someone, like me, who shouldn't buy another guitar but wants a classical!

Excellent Guitar! Be sure to change the strings!
This is a really excellent classical guitar! The action and string spacing is great. What isn't so great are the strings - the ones it came with went out of tune frequently and were basically just crap. Got it setup and new strings from my guitar guy - and now this thing is amazing. Deep resonant tones and nice supple action. For a "student" guitar it is just fantastic. Could not be happier. Simple, clean, great action, and beautiful tone. Just be sure to change the strings when you get it!!

Cordoba"Estudio" 7/8 scale Classical guitar
Definitely has a mahogany sound but warn and sweet, not twang or dull. The color is darker which is more like mahogany. The action is low, so buzz of 6th ,5th , and 4th string. Tone is better than other protege's or Coco or Yamaha C40. I will replace with the bone saddle, and then adjust the neck to get rid off the buzz. And maybe put Aquila Alabastro or Augustine Imperial Blue string on to see if it has a different/warm/sweeter sound.

Delightful and very playable instrument
The photograph does not do justice to this guitar. The body is all mahogany, and it is dark brown in colour, with lighter accents in the pattern of the grain, and actually looks much better than the picture suggests. It is much darker in colour than most classical guitars, and this gives it a distinctive and, to my eyes, very appealing appearance. It is described as 7/8 scale - this means that the body of the guitar is 3/4 size, and the neck and fretboard are full-size.The supplied strings are quite good, although I agree with another reviewer's recommendation of D'Addario EJ45 Pro-Arte Normal (.028-.043) Classical Guitar Strings which sound great on this instrument. The guitar's tone is pleasingly resonant, and it sounds like like a more expensive instrument. Its intonation is good, with the higher frets remaining in tune very well. The neck features a truss rod, and a suitable hex wrench is included to adjust the curvature of the neck - this was not required on my guitar, but it is not difficult to access should that be necessary. The tuners are of good quality, and more ornate than I would have expected; they allow the guitar to retain its tuning quite well after the initial bedding-in phase. This is a very nice guitar to play, with a sound quality that belies the size of the body, and the price, and I am very happy to have it. Top class guitar - buy quickly because once the word gets around..Two years on
If you're thinking of spending £400 on a classical guitar on the internet - forget it. Buy this before everyone realizes what a great instrument it is and sells them out of stock. Put your own strings on first, the Savarez ones are crap. D'Addario EJ45's are perfect for this Jem of a guitar. Intonation: perfect, feel and playability brilliant. Tone: really resonant and projects well. Nice sweetish sound that doesn't need playing in. Mahogany front is different form the boring cedar and spruce fronts you see around all the time. This is a proper classical guitar and plays and sounds brilliant. Cordoba have a good reputation for classicals and this is a Protégé by Cordoba - 7/8th's model with a standard 52mm neck width and 630 scale length. Knocks spots of the equivalent Admira Clasico which is about 6 times the price. Probably the best guitar I've bought off the internet, undoubtedly the bargain of the century. Stunned. Two years on this guitar is still fabulous. Its my main playing guitar now and I have really appreciated its strength of sound which is full and warm. No issues to report - still love it.The issues around using imported wood have probably led to this guitar being unavailable.

A word of caution
While undoubtedly a bargain at the low price I paid I would also advise to take a breath before buying. I have the Cordoba dolce which is the same but higher spec and crucially doesn’t have a mahogany top. If I play the two side by side they are like chalk and cheese honestly. In my opinion mahogany tops are best left to steel strung guitars and dreadnoughts at that. A classical guitar needs a sweet vibrant tone when plucked and the mahogany just sounds dead. This may change with age and playing but a beginner wants a nice sound from scratch if not going to be put off. I also have a few buzzes on mine and a set up and new strings, i agree with the other reviewers on strings btw , will cost about £40 . A better longer term purchase in my opinion is the La Mancha Rubi 7/8 , Esteve 63 , or Cordoba dolce....I have played them all and they are all inspiring guitars around the £200 mark which will last forever and sound great forever. Oh and this instrument “May” have Indian rosewood on it which is now banned under Cites regulations so it would be a problem if you wanted to go on holiday with it..or travel ...so check first.

More like a full sized guitar
The scale is in fact 650 mm that is from nut to bridge. It is incorrectly advertised at 630. Nut width 52mm, making it a full sized guitar. So unsuitable for small folk and/or beginners. To come close to 7/8 of 650 (approx 570) you need to look at 3/4 sized guitars. That's if you expect to buy at this price from a manufactured source. Otherwise it's a custom built job.Perhaps the sizing conventions in the guitar industry are as variant as the clothing trade.Apart from that it is a decent guitar. It's body is smaller and suitable for parlour situations. I can leave it on a guitar hanger, ready for use.On 12/may. I have played it daily since getting it. The supplied savarez strings are good. It's been very nice to play. Stays in tune. I think some setting up can improve on it.So a worthwhile buy.

An absolute delight
I can’t believe how much I enjoy this guitar.I am a beginner; initially bought a full size Yamaha but it was too big for me and felt uncomfortable so I returned it.This guitar is the perfect size for me, 3-5 cm smaller than the full size one.The sound is absolutely gorgeous. The strings are comfortable for my untrained fingers.I recommend it 100%. Very happy!
