Not pure enough
The purity of this compound appears to be low, compared to other lab reagents. When dissolved in water, a significant amount of residue remains, even though pure copper nitrate salts should be readily soluble. This indicates it is not of lab grade purity. If a lower-grade material were acceptable for my purposes, I would have chosen garden-grade copper salt alternatives at a much lower cost.
