Chaco Men's Z/Volv 2 Sandal

My favorite all around "do everything" sandal to date
I wear my sandals 3 seasons a year in the New England area of the USA. I look for sandals to be light enough to be comfortable all day but also to have enough support and traction to wear when I am doing things like day hikes and canoeing and rafting and etc. I recently wore a pair of sandals exclusively for 10 days straight during a vacation to Italy.I was a longtime Teva lover and I had settled into the Terra Fi line as being a good combination of comfort yet rugged enough for active use. I wore Tevas exclusively for a number of years. I had been hearing good things about Chacos and when it was time for a new pair, I bought a pair of the Classic Z2’s. I wore them as my only sandal for about 2 years. While I found them superior to the Tevas in their performance when being active, I also found them a bit too heavy. They started spending more and more time in my closet as my feet got simply got fatigued for casual wear and I went back to the tried and true Tevas. After I blew out my most recent pair of sandals (on the aforementioned Italy trip), I bought the Chaco Zvolve 2 hoping for the Chaco performance in a lighter weight package. They were advertised as being 20% lighter and it makes all the difference in the world. They have a sole that is stiff and athletic enough to support hiking and other active pursuits, yet they are light and comfortable enough to wear all day just knocking around. Everyone I know makes fun of the toe loop. My kids call my Chaco tan lines my “dork tan.” I don’t care, the Z webbing and toe loop keeps the sandal well centered and keeps the foot from sliding around. When cinched down, they suck right to the bottom of my feet. When hiking in the woods, I find myself having to shake pebbles or twigs out from between my sandal and foot MUCH less frequently. If you wear sandals hiking in the woods, you know what I am talking about. They are super adjustable. I cinch them down when active and I keep them looser when wearing them casually. They are more expensive than their competitors, but I find them to be a much better sandal. Given how much I wear my sandals… It’s money well spent. I highly recommend them.

Almost a year in, these are solid
I wasn't sure what to think of the toe loop. It takes some time getting used to. (I have both these and toeloopless) these are definitely better for stability. They are better than shoes for stability. If you want hiking sandals these are probably what you want. I think my record is ~15 miles in a day. Feet felt fine. These are also easy to clean. If they start to smell I use an old toothbrush and water with two capfulls of cheap mouthwash. Good as new shortly after. These show no signs of breaking.

Size Matters
OK, I will address the size issue first. I wear a true 8.5 American shoe size, this shoe only comes in whole sizes so that means every shoe is really a half-size larger! What I mean is they are 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, and so on! My 8 fit perfectly I will let you decide for yourself!!! I love them although I wish they were a little lighter as they do have a heavy feel. I have worn them twice so far and found them to be quite comfy just a little heavy! Watch the video on how to adjust to your foot and you will be happy! I hope this helps!!!

Durable and comfy firm
Good chacos wore them for a whole river season and they did great. Honestly more grippy than the new chacos but the toe strap takes some gittin used to

I read through reviews and bought a few pair to try in different styles as there is not a retailer near me. I think they run a tad large. I've worn Teva, Reef, and cobian my whole life but wanted to try these. At first I thought they were hard, heavy, and uncomfortable. I started walking the dog in them and slowly adjusting the straps and now that I have them "dialed in" I love them. The straps are in the right places and the arch support is great. I took them wake-skating today and they are neutrally bouyant; nice if you surf or want to wear them in the water. I bought them with and without the toe loop and like the toe loop ones, especially today wake-skating. wish they were made in America and not China.

Good build quality - not for me
These look great and are built solidly, the issue for me was fit. The heel has a slight cup to it and rubbed uncomfortably on the outside of my heels. A blister waiting to happen.

Best Sandal for Hiking
So I've been a modern nomad, living out of my backpack. And these sandals have been my go to for every day I didn't need a set of boots for working in. Rain or shine, these were on my feet. Granted not in the snow because I always traveled to a region where I wouldn't be cold when I would be backpacking or thru hiking. The toe strap is to me the selling point, it keeps the sandal in place, and planted to your foot. This is my 3rd set, I've had my first set rebuilt, and for some reason during a move I lost my first set, so these are replacing them, third times the charm, and they feel much lighter already! I'm excited to put some miles on these sandals like I did my old ones!

Blisters and cuts.
I bought Chacos at the recommendation of someone who had hiked Havasupai Falls. He told me I would need good sandals for the frequent stream crossings on the trail to Beaver Falls. He recommended Chacos. He didn't tell me which model he had. I looked at the reviews online and got the Zvolv 2. I hiked with them three times, for one hour each time, to get my feet accustomed to the sandals before my hike to Beaver Falls. On the four mile out and back hike to Beaver Falls, I ended up with more blisters than I have ever had in my life, and two cuts through my skin from the bands. I didn't even wear them for the entire four miles. I wore them for maybe two miles. Don't buy these sandals unless you only plan on using them for lounging around the swimming pool. They definitely don't work for hiking.

Son para uso específico. Necesitas tiempo para acostumbrarte a ellas.
Muy buen huarache para uso rudo en campo, caminatas largas (con o sin agua). Solo se necesita tiempo para acostumbrarse a ellas y adaptarlas a tu pie.
