one of the best book I have seen
The best book I've seen / read on how to learn how to handle. I have learned many to handle a ASD.. I have been in the Towing job for approx 40 years and i ASD in 25 years

Very Valuable Resource
I have been on Z-Drive tugs for 15 years now and this book is not also good to learn from, But also a great resource of information for your personal library. I recommend this book to all the guys that work with me and to anyone out there that wants to work on a Z-Drive tug.

What a great technical book to read and what a great teacher the author is.
I have been deeply reading "Learning to Drive a Z-drive" and have found it irresistible. Surely the author Captain Jeff Slesinger has thought deeply on his ship handling skills and come up with a bestseller.The author has bared his inner self in coming across to the learner. This book couldn't have been presented any better.I have learned what I yearned for after reading this wonderful book.

If a mariner was looking to get on board a Z - Drive and think they will steer it as they do a conventional, it would be a great to read this book first even if they did or didn't go to a Z - Drive school. The information in this book will help you if you take time to go through it and take time to understand what the boat will do before jumping into a chair on one.Thanks,Kelly

Highly recommended for ASD Tug Masters
Great read for a beginner through to an experienced driver. In depth knowledge into working machinery and dynamics of the operating tug.

Worth every penny
I've been training onboard an ASD for a while and it's cool to have a book the explains the "why"s in a practical manner. This is a resource the may be priceless to ASD owners, operators and Masters that train new guys.

On the other hand if you are a pilot this book will give insides about ASD which will help you become a better pilot.
Operating a ASD tug is something you can't learn from a book you must gain mussle memory for operation a tugboat. On the other hand if you are a pilot this book will give insides about ASD which will help you become a better pilot.
