HUMGOO 1080P FHD Dome Camera WiFi IP
The Humgoo Wireless IP Camera is my 4th IP camera and it compares extremely well with my existing ones. The cam has a good quality feel about it, with the white plastic casing feeling nice and solid and the camera has a good weight to it.When the cam is placed on a flat surface, the base is planted nice and firmly and does not feel like it might topple over. The base is home to LED indicators for WiFi and Ethernet connections on the front and at the rear there is an Ethernet port, the 5V Micro USB power port, a reset button and a MicroSD card slot. Either side of the base contains the microphone and loud speaker, which are used for the 2-way communication feature. The camera lens is mounted in the center of the "ball" section of the camera, with an IR LED mounted above the lens for night time video recording and a light sensor mounted below the lens, which is used to automatically switch the night mode on when the light level drops and then switch it off when the light level increases (you can also manually turn off the IR LED’s, allowing you to position the camera looking out of a window). The lens is mounted in a "ball" because it has Pan, Tilt and Zoom capabilities which let you move the camera around. The camera can record video in Full HD resolution (1920x1080) to a MicroSD card (not included) with the video being compressed using the H.264 compression to fit as much video onto the card as possible.Although the camera can be placed on a flat surface, a wall/ceiling mounting bracket is supplied which which can be fixed into position and then the camera screws onto the bracket.***** In The Box *****1 x IP Camera1 x UK Power Adapter1 x EU Power Adapter1 x Mounting Bracket2 x Screws and Wall fixings1 x MicroUSB Cable1 x User Manual***** Installation / Usage *****Installing and using the Humgoo camera was pretty straightforward (particularly if you have installed a similar type of camera in the past). In fact it was identical to another brand of camera that I have. After connecting the camera to the mains, the camera will take around 50 seconds to calibrate and you will see the ball part of the camera rotate left and right around it's 350 degree axis and rotate up and down.I already had the MIPC app from the Google Play Store installed for one of my other cameras, but it is quick and simple to install. The steps were pretty straight forward (if you have installed the MIPC app for the first time, it will ask you to set up a free user account). Now after pressing the + button to add a camera, I scanned the barcode on the bottom of the camera and it automatically entered the cameras details.I then chose to use my WiFi network connection and entered my security information. The camera tells you to press the reset button for around 1 second – the camera then talks to you and tells you it is waiting for the wireless settings to be sent to the camera. After 30 or 40 seconds, the camera told me the settings had been received and the camera was set up and I was able to see the live video feed. The MIPC app is quite straight forward and quite intuitive to use. It enables you to view the live video from the camera, record the video feed to your smartphone and view saved video on the camera's MicroSD card. The IP camera has PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) features which are easily controlled using the app - you can simply swipe left, right, up and down whilst in the live view mode and the camera will move in the corresponding direction. Zooming in and out is accomplished by "pinching" the screen.Using the app also enables you to change the many settings that are available on the camera, including setting up recording schedules, notifications, alerts and motion detection. You can also change probably the most important setting, which is of course changing the camera's default password. There is also some PC software available to download from the MIPC website which offers pretty much the same functionality as the smartphone app. Again, the software is quite self-explanatory and enables you to control the camera, view video, change settings etc.***** Conclusion *****The camera itself feels solid and I like that it can be connected to your network via both Ethernet and WiFi connections (you must use 2.5Ghz as 5Ghz is not supported). I have tried both connection types and they both work very well. Ethernet would be the preferred connection type, for stability, but WiFi performed very well and would be useful if you need to place the camera somewhere that would be awkward to run an Ethernet cable to.Being able to move the camera around and use the 2-way communication is a huge bonus as it means I can use the camera as a baby monitor to keep an eye and ear on my son and he can hear my voice. The most important aspect of a security camera is the video quality, which is very good. The video feed is nice and clear with night time video quality is surprisingly good.I have tried to connect the camera to my existing CCTV DVR, but have been unsuccessful as the camera does not appear to support the ONVIF protocol, which is a bit of a shame as I would have liked to have connected the camera to my main CCTV system to keep all of my recordings in one place. My only negative point is that the camera needs to connect to a 3rd party server to be able to access it – I would far rather have complete control over the camera.Overall, this is a great quality camera with some very nice features at a reasonable price.

Very impressive camera for the price BUT!!!
Very impressed with this camera. I have several security cameras but this one was the easiest to set up and works very well. It is helpful to be able to turn the camera using the app.I have now bought a second camera and this is the BUT it is easy to set up just like my other but I have set it in another room and it is out of range of the modem this is a problem, as I cant move the modem. It is a great shame that the range is not a few feet further as it would be ideal.Be aware that the max range I can get is about 30ft from the modem or I lose the signal.

Not too bad!
Not too bad a camera, very easy to set up but does not work on 5GHZ however, this is explained in the manual enclosed. Had it working in less than 5 minutes PTZ control is a cool function and it also takes an SD card for recording which is pretty good too. For a budget camera this is worth it and would recommend.

Home security or simple monitoring
This is my fist venture into using an IP camera in the home, it won't be the last! I was impressed with build quality of this camera and the features available. It was easy to get the app and connect to the camera, I had it up-and-running in only a few minutes. It can connect using WiFi or ethernet cable and I didn't notice any loss of speed or stuttering video when using the WiFi connection. The camera can be set onto it's base on a table or shelf. The base is sturdy and it doesn't look like it will fall over at all. There is also a bracket to allow for mounting the camera onto a wall or from the ceiling. When mounting it upside down there is a setting in the app to flip the video footage. There is a microSD card slot to allow for recording onto the device itself. I have fitted a 32gb card which allows for approximately 4 days of recording at full HD and the unit can be connected to a separate recorder.I was impressed by some of the features of the camera. It has a face recognition function to prevent pets from causing an issue. The camera is mounted on a 360deg rotating head and can follow the motion it sees. This means it tracks a person walking through the home to ensure the camera is recording everything that person does. It will also notify you by a message on your phone when it detects motion in the house.Overall, this is a great camera with lots of features and you will not be disappointed.

Excellent - You need this in your life EVEN if you don't have a reason to have one !!! Lol !
Totally love this, can't get enough of it and will be buying more of the exact same. Easy to sync to your router and phone. It doesn't work with 5G wi fi but that would've just been a bonus. We used the non 5G one we have. We've been watching our boxer dog when we're out and about and it's beautiful and funny to see, especially as he's not meant to be on the sofa's !!!With a swipe left or right, up or down on your phone the camera swivels around. It's a lovely bit of kit, nice in white and moves so smoothly.Probably the best £40.00 I've ever spent and will be buying more.

Very good.
This is a great little camera that really gives peace of mind. Easy to set up, and easy to use via your phone. You can fix it into place with the screws provided, but I have just rested it on a surface and find that is good enough. The picture is sharp and you can make out details really well. Two way audio let's you talk through it so you can let people know they are being watched. Great stuff.

The bin is beckoning
If I had paid for this I would have returned it. It cannot find my wi-fi even when inches from the router, and even with an ethernet cable it still does not work. Going on the website does not work as described in the booklet, the downloaded manual does not have a troubleshooting section and there is no phone number for help. I have wasted too much of my time on this already - the bin is beckoning.
