Love this book about Dr. King told by his sister. Gives a look at his childhood.

I love this book, it is beautiful, but I'm a teacher and when it arrived it had been folded inside the small Amazon envelope. Totally putting a crease in the front and the back! Not ok guys. As a teacher I need to know that my book will arrive in the best condition, as it helps to ensure the children will treat them with respect. Do better Amazon.

I use this with my 4th graders. The book shows why Martin Luther King Jr fought for equality, because of his experiences as a child.

I bought this book to give to my 9 year old grandson for Christmas. It came yesterday and I was curious to see if I could learn anything I didn't already know about Martin Luther King. It was very interesting and written to encourage children to live and work to achieve their dreams. Such an enjoyable and easy read. Very well written.

I can't recommend this book enough. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and it is a beautifully-written book as well!

Exactly what I wanted.

This book is a personal account by Dr. King's sister about growing up with the future trailblazer. It is an easy read aloud, and informative. Good primary source and a great starting place for some good prewriting activities, as well as more detailed writing activities. Nice book.

Vieles kannte ich bereits über Martin Luther King. Doch aus der Sicht seiner Schwester, über seine Kindheit, das war mir lange unbekannt. Obwohl alle Texte in Englisch geschrieben sind, ist das normale Schulenglisch ausreichend, um den Inhalt zu verstehen. Deshalb auch - oder besonders - für Schüler geeignet. Die farbigen Illustrationen unterstreichen den Inhalt sehr eindrucksvoll. Heute habe ich ein zweites Exemplar bestellt, weil ich es verschenken möchte. Der Preis ist auch sehr ok. Ich kann dieses 40-seitige Buch sehr empfehlen.
