Straps broke in the wind
Great shield against the frost in the morning. Only drawback is that the shield was gone after a night of strong winds, which broke the straps. The shield did a great job, and I would still have it today if the straps were made of a more durable material.

No instructions,just outside of box
Well packaged and that sums up most of the good. Love the mirror covers. One person cannot install if windy (understand). Even with inside strap it can move around with weather.I have a large car and thought this would be a good fit and it was over sized so wind or breeze would move it. Overall I am not unhappy but was in hopes for a better and tighter fit. Am I mad, no, serves the purpose I was looking for so with that I was getting what I needed.

It works
I live in scenic St. Paul Minnesota where the winters really are as bad as you think. For literally years I have been parking my car on the street, and getting a vigorous upper body work-out each morning in the dark scraping and scraping and scraping, in seeming futility. An interesting note is that the colder it gets, the more difficult it is to remove frost. What is easy-peasy in October when it's ~ 20 degrees is an immobile layer of death at -20 in January. After two weeks of sub-zero nights in this particular early January 2010, repleat with especially brutal and immobile layers of frost, I thought to myself "O.K., I need to do something." But what? Build a $30,000 garage? Not feasible. Then I saw a relatively expensive magnetic device ($20+) in one of those catalogs you can thumb-through on airplanes. I came to Amazon to see if something similar was available. I am budget-minded...frugal...some might say "cheap", so the price really drew me to this item. I reasoned that the worst that could happen would be that it doesn't work. For ~ $10 it was worth the risk.I'm writing this review to share the fact that this thing works perfectly. It is better than a Thneed. And it is worth every penny. It fits like it was made for my Subaru Forester (though the image here is upside-down from the way I use it.) This seemingly flimsy little piece of shiny material looks deceptively simple. I worried that it might make the car a target for vandalism, but the corners shut inside your doors. I suppose someone could destroy it, but they won't be able to steal it easily. If you keep it nice and tight to the windshield, you will have zero scraping to do on the front of your car every morning. Being able to see is the first step to safe winter driving. I'm saving gas. I'm saving time. And I'm reducing the amount of time I spend outdoors in sub-zero windchills. My only reservation (the reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars) is that it does not seem terribly durable. Still - I've had it nearly a month, and no problems yet.Fantastic. I never want to be without one in winter again.

Handy!
Best price for this handy device!!!... I used binder clips to make a bit more firm-fitting. Also 1 side comes up off the windshield due to the adjustment straps so I hold it down with a stick (so wind & rain don't allow ice to form underneath). But otherwise, can't beat It! (It was a lifesaver during this winter's ice-storms, saving me from chiseling out the windows like my coworkers had to do!)

Keeps windshield clean
I've only used this within the last 2 weeks. The last was during a major ice/snow storm. My main challenge was that I find it hard to keep the lower part of the shield on the windshield. It blew up from the bottom exposing my wipers and one of the main reasons I got it was to keep them from being frozen to the windshield without just raising them in the air. Anyway, the part of the windshield covered and side mirrors were well protected. It didn't tear and otherwise did well.

GREAT Product and GREAT Gift idea!!! NO MORE FROZEN WINDOWS!!!
I bought this product for myself and a few others last year and we just love it and everyone who sees it wants one which is why I bought a few more again this year.It is very easy to install and remove. After a fresh snowfall all you have to do is clear the snow from your car (not including the windshield) loosen the windshield straps to remove the side mirror covers and gain access to the inside where you need to unclip the two attached cords. Once that is done you can fold that side of the windshield cover over to the other side (to keep the snow in the cover and not the car) then from the other side slide it off the mirror and windshield and shake off all the snow that has accumulated and you are done. Your windshield will be clear of both ice and snow and ready to drive. The ONLY bad thing I do see with this product is that one the cover comes off it is naturally wet so for some storing it at this point is more challenging. My vehicle has hard plastic in the rear as posed to cloth so I don't have to worry about the trunk being soaked. I also have a small bucket in my vehicle that I am able to put it into until it is dry and I can fold it up into the side mirror pockets.Great product, Easy to use, and highly recommended!!

Game changer
Wow is all I can say! Fast shipping, easy to use and I am super happy I don’t have to wait for my windows to defrost as this product is way better then I expected! I know what my family members are getting for Christmas

Does the job.
We use it to keep the leaves away from the cowl and it works fine. It's a bit lightweight, but looks like it will be fine under ice.

> Makes it easy to remove dry/fluffy snow/ > Easy to clean/wipe
NOTE: I bought this for my BF's car, and these are his comments.PROS> Covers the windshield properly.> Covers the side mirrors and prevents freezing.> Makes it easy to remove dry/fluffy snow/> Easy to clean/wipe.CONS> It will stick/freeze on your windshield if there is freezing rain or wet snow.> The material is not thick or as durable as I would like. Be careful when removing while it's in a frozen state as the material may tear.> Material is light/flimsy so heavy winds will blow it out of position.> As it is light, it may be a challenge to put on in windy conditions.> Once wet, it will take time to fold it properly since it is flimsy.> The strings to tie down the cover are not secure enough. It's flimsy and can be pulled out through your car door and tear your door's weather strip if a person is intent on taking it.

Really poor quality
Didn’t really fit well on my Dodge truck. Snow and ice stuck to it and made it extremely hard to remove it in the morning. It came apart the first time I used it. Waste of money. I had a silver foil look one that blew away in severe wind storm , that worked a lot better. Snow slid off of it with no problem. Less expensive too.

Cheap product and cheap quality; ripped immediately
Awkward to install. Side mirror pockets are a bit large and don't really cover the mirrors properly. They don't actually cover the glass portion properlyEven after tightening the 3 straps, the fit on the windshield was still not snug. When I came back to my van, I found the wind had blown up the cover leaving the windshield unprotected. I tried tucking the cover underneath the wipers but it still got blown offThe fabric also ripped on my first use! Overall not a good experience
