better than expected at a price I couldn't beat.
I bought two of these, one for office and another for home. This lets me keep the computer far enough way to still plug in and hear what I need to with headphones. My home set, lets me keep my audio device far enough away and listen to headphones in bed without worrying about tangling cords or knocking device on floor [I had done this without the extension cord!].The cord is thicker than standard earbuds' cords and feels nice and durable. Plugs are not gold plated, but even with the cord length I can't detect any real sound degredation. Audiophiles might be able to tell, but I keep my volume as low as is inteligible to preserve hearing wear and tear.I couldn't even find something like this at retail. You might have luck at Radio Shack, but I didn't have one close enough to go look for just this item .

Does What It Is Supposed To
I just got this extension cable and tried it out for a 5-minute music video with a set of headphones that already have a built-in 6-foot cable. This extension is just what I needed to sit on the couch and watch the TV without bothering others. The initial quality seems high - the cable is quite thick, not flimsy, and the connectors seem well-made and do not wiggle. Upon plugging the male end into the TV, I noticed that it fits just a tad bit loose. It sounded like a good connection through the headphones though. I was expecting the volume to be really low or something since the signal was traveling through 12 feet of cable, but it didn't sound any different than without the extension cable. Same range of volume is there. The only negative that I can point out right now is that my headphone male connector fit very tightly into the extension cable, and I had to pull hard to remove it. This may become an issue with cheaper headphones. Overall, you cannot beat the value for around $2 and usually free shipping. Right now, I highly recommend this cable, but if it turns out to be crap later, I'll amend this review.

Free Shipping?
First, the cable is as advertised, seems to work just fine, decent quality for the price, exactly what I wanted and expected. What I didn't like was that Amazon listed it as free shipping, however when the post office delivered, or I should say notified me of attempted delivery, they told me that postage was due. The postage was more than the cost of the cable. To finish it off, I had to drive to the post office to pay postage and pick up my package which made the delivery aspect of this a disappointing experience.Updated 9/7/12Amamax customer service has been outstanding. They have gone above and beyond my expectations in trying to resolve the shipping issue. The $ amounts weren't significant, but they contacted me several times attempting to resolve the issue, offering input on how they could best resolve my shipping issue. Clearly a mistake was made and they have done everything in their power to resolve the issue.

works great, I got shipped the 12 foot version though
Pros: -I got a 6 more feet than i paid for (this could be a con to some, but I'm fine with the extra length) -Sound quality stays the same, no buzzing or anything either -seems fairly durable, thick wiring -it was cheap and it works -it is stereoCons: Well, even though I'm fine with the fact that i was shipped the 12 foot version, there may be people who would not be happy with that accidental switch upOther Thoughts: I was quite worried when I first tried plugging in to the female end because it didn't look like my headphones were going to fit, but I forced it pretty well and it finally clicked in to place. Not sure if its supposed to be that hard to get in, but its nice having it secure rather than flopping out all the time. (That's what she said.)

Basic audio extension , no problems so far
My main reason for buying one of these cables was to use the audio jack from my computer to plug in earphones all the way to my bed.3 feet length were too short so i ended up getting a 6 ft one, which does the job just fine.Be aware that the longer these cables get the higher chances they have or sound breaking or cracking. I bought some 18 ft ones and 25% of the time they will have sound hissing or cracking.cables are pretty sturdy , a lot better that stretching earphones which have thinner cables to barely get any extra space

Much Better Quality Than I Expected, At an Almost Givaway Price.
I've got to admit, I didn't expect much when I bought 2 of these for $1.22 each with free shipping. I only bought them as extras to use in a pinch. From the pictures on amazon this cable did not appear to have gold plated ends, and description did not say this. But mine are gold plated. I can't say that all of them are. Maybe I just got lucky. That being said , gold plated or not, these cables have excellent build quality. The ends are not flimsy at all. They are well made and the cable is thick, but very pliable. Not at all stiff, a common complaint. I tested both cables and found no hum or loss of sound quality. I highly recommend this cable, and I'm picky with my cables. You could easily expect to spend 6.99 to 8.99 at an electronics store. Gold plated or not.

Works Fine - Read Review for Details Though
This extension cord does what I need it to do, reach my ears while laying in bed with the player on the shelf. I like that the cord is thicker than my headphone cord as it does help keep it from tangling (an issue I hate with headphones). The reason I could not give it 5 stars is because the plug that connects to the MP3 makes static noise if you move or touch it, not an ideal thing for most people so I don't want to rate it higher, giving potential buyers the wrong idea (that's why these reviews are so important). But because I don't move my MP3 player much, it doesn't affect me so not worth returning/exchanging. With the nice, low price I paid ($1.39 with free shipping on 1-20-13), I really can't (and don't) complain.Update 11/13: Purchased another 9/13 as a backup. It serves my purpose, cheaply.
