These guys manage to do what they do without selling-out. They resisted pressure to up ratings (not like they need it!) with cussing, unabashedly are people of faith & family, and it's great to see 'em using the fruits of the land ;) which may offend some people, but such is life. Authenticity is worth its weight in gold and is as rare as duck teeth.Phil Robertson, the Dynasty Godfather is blessed with more charisma that most humans. The "Robertson Zone" lifts viewer's spirits, with wholesome, eccentric-American fun. "I'm a jack of all trades and a Renaissance Man - ain't nothin' I can't do," rightfully declares Uncle Si. This is one smart clan! We appreciate the delightful matriarch and fine cook, Miss Kay; Papa Phil likes a woman with a little meat on her bones who can cook real food. He dispenses valuable advice to his grandsons on finding the right woman, "When you're talking 'bout bees, dogs, or women, pain can come up on you real fast." That man has a voice made for listening to, he could say anything and make it compelling. I'm not that kind of guy who likes to watch reality shows (or watch a lot of TV for that matter), and I guess you can't say this is a reality show per se, but what I like is that this one is of those you can classify as a real family show (something you don't find nowadays on TV), you don't have to worry if you kids are alone watching it.I like the fact the Robertsons show themselves as they are, no masks, no watching over the shoulder because they have money. They remember their roots, where they come from, and just keep being who they are, a family who loves each other, spend quality time together and support each other all the time. A family who started their business in a humble building, and their hard work was blessed with what they have now.What you can expect from the DVD is lots of fun (especially with Si), christian values, hunting and a family presenting everyday situations... oh and lot of funny Vietnam anecdotes/stories brought to you by Si.Something I find odd though, it's that the fourth chapter "Fowl Play" (in disc one), it's the same one as "Frog in One" from the first season, don't know why.Other than that I reeaally like it, it's one of my favorite shows.

I can't stand Reality TV series as a whole, only a few do I find entertaining & this is by far, top of the list. My only complaint with this was I only discovered this show a few months ago... ok, I knew of it, but never got around to watching it because I just knew it would be like all others out there. Wrong. Si for president!Seriously though, my ONLY complaint is to catch up on all episodes, I bought Season 1 and watched them. Loved watching the episodes I missed. So I bought Season 2 preorder from Amazon.. (I thought), only to find out that which I missed... VOLUME 1??!!!Why? Put them all on one disc set. Let's not get greedy folks, you're already making a lot of Quack Cash why make us spend more money??The only thing worse would be if A&E pulls a George Lucas & tweaks & reissues this for another 10 times over the next 10 years.Great show, love the commentary & the mayhem on each episode.Gravely disappointed in the choice to break up season 2 unlike season 1. :(

I don't typically like reality TV. Mostly because there are far to many obnoxious people on the shows. Duck Dynasty is the exception. It was quite by accident that I happen to flip to it one day while looking for something to watch. After only a few minutes of watching how a father was concerned about his daughter dating a boy and how he handled it, I was hooked. They may poke a little fun at one another, but they're not cruel or condescending. Overall they actually seem pretty wise about life and know how to be good to each other. The other real difference is they screw up once in awhile like most guys, and the results are often funny rather than hurting anyone. Talk about a refreshing difference. So if your going to watch reality TV I suggest this show. You might actually learn something good from these bearded duck hunters and their families.CA Luster

I have read several of the reviews on here. First the DVD is the whole collection. It has 13 episodes and some bonus features. Why don't people take the time to look at the episode lists? Second the show is not scripted. They go out there and film these guys and edit how they want to. The Duck Commander folks even said they would like more of their "realness" so to speak to come out but they have no control in how A&E edits things. Third these guys are not uneducated by any means. All the kids have degrees and so does Phil. Could any of you sitting here go out and do what Willy is doing and run that multi million dollar business? Don't think so.This show is good, clean fun. It's one of the only shows on TV my children and I can all sit down together and watch. I am thankful for the Robertsons and all the laughs they give my family. I am addicted to the show officially.

Happen to like these down-to-earth people and thestories that are presented around their day-to-day lives.My favorite character--and he is one-is Uncle Si.Gets my vote every time for the best lines, off the cuff, out of theblue comments!! (Keep asking myself, Is this guy for real?And, it appears that he is.)These people make me laugh-genuinely burst out laughing at thesituations they get into and the conversations they have. Delicious (although I'm not sure about squirrels' brains) entertainment at its very best!!

What I love about this show and the people in it is that it makes me think that I can teach my son some of the old fashioned considerate and respectful behaviors that are modeled in the show.

Love the old family values of the south.
