Great little Quickie sharpener. I did some dull kitchen knives, a pocket knife & an Ulu in just a few minutes. I've never used an electric sharpener before so at 1st I had a little trouble with it stopping due to blade jam. But I quickly got the idea of how to hold the knife & I really like it.My blades were very slightly rough but it actually seems to help in cutting & slicing.Time will tell how durable it is, but, right now, I'm very happy with it. I took off one star only because it's not truly precision made.But for the money, it's fine with me.

I understand the utility of a Sharp knife, but as I get older, my hands are less able to handle extensive knife sharpening. I bought this because of the reviews and the price. Once it got here I went on a sharpening binge. I sharpened every single knife in my knife drawer in less than an hour. Beautiful edges, sharp enough to cut paper. Don't throw away your old knives, get this instead it is easy to use and will extend the life of your knives.

It dose a good job of sharpening different types and styles of knives.

This electric came as promised and will only work when pulled in. It is not rechargeable.The sharping stones are not even in the slots, making a different cut on each side of the blade. The stone is also very aggressive and will wear out an expensive knife quickly. To use it, you have to really practice on how to hold the blade in each slot. I will use in in my workshop and only on tools.

I bought my first knife sharpener and was very pleased with it. A few months later I got another one justlike this one for my birthday. I gave my first one to my daughter and son in law who finally wore there'sout. She called me asking where I got it and told me what happened. They used that knife sharpener for10 or 11 years before it wore out. Since it's Christmas I ordered them another one. They were very happy to get another one and are still thanking me for their gift. As far as I am concerned I will continue to order and use this as long as it's available when i need to order another one

Motor is not smooth and will stop when sharpening a large knife.

I would recommend this to anyone who uses knifes it makes sharpening them way easier good product solid build the cord is a decent length so you can have it up on a table n plugged in near the baseboard which is convenient.I tested it out today on this old buck knife I had and after a couple passes through the smith 5000 my knife was like brand new, very user friendly n the motor is quiet which is also a plus.
