Fun Toy for Adults and Children
Bought this for my adult children for Christmas and we had good time playing with it. Think would be great for older children as it would help them learn and reason. We were able to "win" against it several times and not with odd ball items e.g., it did not get Bread, Platinum and a few others. One it missed was sewing kit but that is a bit odd because it does not fit cleanly in animal, mineral or vegetable. Surprised at what it did get, especially in light of the questions it asked. Some questions you have to think about and for children think this would be great for developing reasoning as well as just having some fun. It does have a bit of attitude which is kind of fun too. For the price it is a great fun toy.

Fun and portable.
The 20q game is fun and works very well. The only complaint about this device is the backlight for the LCD in not even; it's lit from left side and the backlight is not evenly distributed. This may make it harder to see for older eyes, like mine. The pricing is also high for such simple device with technology that has been around since 1988.

SO sorry that I bought this!!!!!!!
Looked like a bigger toy. Spent over $50 for a little ball which had NO thrill factor for a bright 8 year old who is fluent on her owniPod. My mistake for buying it.

Not Just For Kids -- ESPECIALLY good for the ELDERLY
I play this game almost every night with my vision impaired 93 year old dad.Not only does it keep his mind active and thinking (like a crossword puzzle), but when the toy guesses the most obscure thing dad can think of it truly blows his mind. He thinks of something & I read him the questions -- so awesome since he can't read anymore due to macular degeneration. In my book, this is a MUST-HAVE for any care-giver to the elderly, blind or not, because they can't believe that it can actually guess the answer! This game has brought us even closer and has been UNBELIEVABLY great fun for us both.

somewhat amazing
The item claims to be able to guess correctly in 20 questions but in about half of the games the device took 24 or so questions to come up with the right guess. This might have something to do with the choice of answers to the questions. The only choices allowed are yes, no, and sometimes. In many cases none of those answers is quite the correct one. Maybe there should be an extra button on the device for "I don't know how to answer that question." The other problem I had with it is that I could find no way to turn it off once I turned it on except to go through another game. Other than these few quibbles, I thought it was a fun, somewhat amazing toy.

Wouldn’t turn off
I bought this for my six year old grandson. I had had one years ago for two little girls that I babysat. There is no way to turn it off. Directions state that it will “go to sleep after a certain amount of time.”Twice I’ve tried to play it, and both times I had to replace the batteries. It apparently sucks up the battery power while it’s sleeping.Very disappointed.

Fascinating toy
This toy is fun for all ages. I have two grandsons, 13 and 8 years of age, and they both loved it. Adults too! Just think of an item, answer the 20 questions that come up, and see if the ball guesses the item correctly. The ball is durable and comes in many colors. Fun to play!

This thing is amazing.....
I got this for my 7 year old son who was begging for it for Christmas. I really didnt know what it was. I thought it was similar to an 8 ball (you know the one you ask yes or no questions). But it isnt at all. It is just like the game "20 questions" except you dont have to play along with the kids if you dont want to!!! LOL When you play, you pick an item and the 20 Q starts asking you questions. I cant believe how many times this thing is correct. Its kinda spooky. : )Great gift idea, (I wouldnt mind getting one myself)As with any electronic toy, you have to be careful with it. It isnt made for young playful hands (such as a toddler who loves to play with his brother's toys) It is about the size of a pool table ball but not completly round. I love it!!

Oddly, not as accurate as the first version.
I was super excited to know there was a Version 3. The first rendition of it years ago, left myself and my children amazed. Sadly, this new version does not guess anywhere near as correctly. It even asks 5 more questions when it gets it wrong and many times, it's still wrong. Whether the word base changed or its internal logic is different I can't say, but it is not as good as the original.

20Q
I bought this for my friends son who would swoop on mine whenever he came to our house, he had just started a new school after moving to a new area and I thought it would also help to 'attract' new friends, its a great item to carry about for those moments you spend waiting, hospital, airport etc.
