UTG mounted to a Ruger 22/45
This is a custom 22/45 that was built for STEEL challenge shooting. My other sight died and I wanted to try a low profile Micro Dot. I didnt want to spend the $400 before I knew if I was going to like this sight. a few good points. it is very low profile and points fast and easy. I really like the ON/OFF button, which also allows the 5 levels of power. It is super easy to mount. It took me about 5 minutes to mount it. Sighting was a breeze. I was able to zero it in less than 10 shot. 3 of which were used to verify zero.Things I dont like. 4 MOA is really small. Especially when in bright sun. a 6 or 8 would have been better. I wish they offered a replacement lazor to convert it to 6 or 8.It was not as bright as I was hoping. Again, in full sun, it is very hard to locate the dot. and I am not 100% sure i like the Green. I live in Oregon and everything is green here. So that causes some sight acquisition. Battery replacement is a bit of a pain. You have to pull two top screws, then pry out the battery. I think it was a 2032. good news.. it comes with 2 batteries.I put around 50 rounds to see if it holds zero and it does. The real test will be next month in a match, where i put around 300 rounds through it. If it hold zero, it will be a very good deal.I would have given this a 5 if it could be brighter.

Holds up to a 10mm
I ordered this as a red dot mount for a glock 20. I have put a few hundred rounds through it so far and its still holding zero well

For the price, it's pretty alright.
Like others have said, I'm not sure if the actual shape is a dot, but it at least appears just fine when aiming with both eyes open as intended. The brightness has been fine. Sighting it in was simple and not a lot of adjustment was needed out of the box. Now that the positives are out of the way, here are the issues. After firing about 100 rounds, the sight would sometimes turn off after a shot. You can turn it back on just fine so it doesn't appear to be low battery or anything, it's the recoil that is turning it off. For the most part it seems to have held zero but by the end of the 100 rounds this came into question. Now whether it's actually the sight, a loose screw, or just my shooting increasingly sucking...I'll have to figure it out next time I'm at the range. For the price, this is a great sight for a 22lr gun or a low recoil gun. It's also good if you simply want to see how you'll like optics on a pistol before you drop big bucks. But from the issues I was getting, I'm not sure if you'd want this on your EDC, and not sure how long it'll last on a 9mm. Overall, it's been a good product.

Decent sight with some annoyances
This small sight seems well made (with exceptions below) and zeroing at 25 yards wasn't much of a problem. There are some negatives, however. First, there appears to be abundant dust and/or lack of proper antireflective coating inside the sight. When the brightness is higher than the second to lowest setting there's lots of speckling, reflections, and glow that get more intense, and more annoying, as the brightness setting increases. Cleaning the outside surfaces of the glass (carefully, using the same materials and techniques I use on my expensive camera lenses) reduces the ptonlrm only slightly, which leads me to conclude that the problems are inside, and that either quality control, or manufacturing/assembly steps, were on the lax side. The other issue has to do with the two screws that must be removed to access the battery: they're Torx-head. Really??? The screw to attach this sight to a rail is Hex, as are the screws on every one of the other red-dots or scopes I have. I have a set of metric and SAE Allen wrenches I keep in my range bag, so now I have to take and hopefully not lose a Torx wrench (supplied with the sight) too? Would it have been such a huge problem to make the two screws I'm referring to with hex heads, just like every other d*mn screw?I've had this on a Ruger Mk.IV and the sight has seen maybe 100 rounds shot. Will see if it holds up with more use. I can live with the issues I mentioned, but wish things were made right to begin with. Haven't decided if I'll keep the sight, ask for a replacement, or a refund, but for the money, overall, it's a relatively good item.

Not great for a pistol
I put this on a Mark IV lite and had it on for about a month. It’s an ok product. The quality is ok. The price is ok. The function is ok...This is the first time I’ve put a reflex on a pistol, though. Some people may like it and it may work better on a different gun. To me, the glass was far too small and it was tough to find the dot. Once I got the hang of that, the dot was too big and covered too much target. It was barely bright enough to use in full NV sun, but I would not say this is a bright sight. Also, the dot was not a very clear dot, as many have complained about. And it varies in shape and intensity as you move it around the glass. But I consider it acceptable for the price.Accuracy went down with the sight for everyone that shot it, and everyone handed it back to me with a slightly disappointed look on their face trying to figure out why they didn’t like shooting this rad gun.Ultimately, I just decided to take the sight off, and it’s much better with iron sights. All that said, this thing would probably work great on a rifle because your face is closer and the glass doesn’t have to be as big. I’ll try throwing it on one of the ARs because I’m past the return window. I have a Feyachi red dot sight that is much bigger, but half the price and I would ten fold recommend it over this UTG. I’d rather put that full size on this pistol at this point.Upshot- I would not recommend. If you really want a micro dot for your handgun, and you’re on a tight budget, I’d say try it out, but I think iron sights are better for almost every application anyway.

No Sir, I don't like it.
Small and compact. Will take up less room in the trash. Mounted on a small AR 9. Was working fine until the glass shifted and i lost my dot. Luckily for me it was a few days after my warranty was up so i am stuck with a hunker. Hopefully it was just a lancet fluke and i got a lemon. Probably smart to use it in an air soft pistol instead. 🤪🤪
