Excellent tourist map!
We love these MapEasy maps for travel, and have used them in Venice, Rome, and Paris. They are the perfect map for planning a walking day in a touristy city. We found them easy to read with plenty of detail, and liked the fact that points of interest (attractions, restaurants, hotels, banks, churches, parking, transportation, etc) are clearly market with the major sights drawn in with pictures and brief descriptions. Someone complained that the churches were not drawn to scale. If you are looking for an accurate satellite image or detailed driving map that extends beyond the city centers, then no, this isn't it, but we loved that the images and explanations helped us plan our walking adventures. The little drawings were even helpful with navigation! This isn't one of those useless local maps you pick up in restaurant foyers with cute images all over it. The scale and detail is very good and we never once got lost with these maps. I am on here writing this review now because I am searching for MapEasy maps for our next trip.

Great Map
This map transformed our trip! I marked it ahead of time so that if we were in a neighborhood we would have several choices of things to see and do. Then we just walked at our own pace. If we wanted to do more we could, if not, we just took it slow and easy. If we got lost, we got lost. One time when we were under time pressure we found ourselves completly on the wrong side of the island, not at all where we thought we were. We just jumped on one of the smaller vaporetto lines and were at our destination in no time. Having this map and a vaporetto pass gave us the freedom to roam with confidence. I didn't walk around holding the map in my hand, but it was always in my pocket just in case. Our friends were amazed at what we wete able to see in our 4 days in Venice. I kept the map and marked our favorite spots with the dates of our visit. What a memory this trip was for us. Can you tell that I would love to go back?

Tour map makes finding sites easy
This map is for the tourist who wants to visit major sites as well as have suggestions for restaurants and hotels that are close to the historic sites they want to visit. With the drawings of the site right on the map, it makes finding them easy. Every street is not listed, but major ones and typical tourist routes are very plainly represented. Walking around with a map might label you as a tourist, but you can use the map to plan your route before heading out, or even use it to plan seeing things located nearby to save steps on your trip before leaving home.

Useful map
You can certainly get a free map when arriving, but we found this map useful. It's accurate (which you expect in a map), but also has good detail in key tourist areas and has independent recommendations for restaurants etc. we used it for several spots, and found a grocery store while in route for a picnic (could not have been found without the map). We use guidebooks on our iPad, but you can't really use the iPad like a map, Especially in Rome. Even if using Google maps, I don't think it works well while you are actually moving about the city... You need a real map. Only downside, no real transit info, except metro stations. You do need to understand the Bus system via a guidebook or online tool separately, the metro is limited in Rome wrt tourist spots.

Handy and accurate
MapEasy's Guidemaps have accompanied us to places around the world. The Rome map is another reminder of why we continue to use them. It's accurate, up-to-date, and helps describe where you are and what you are looking at all with just a glance. We've taken to circling areas we don't want to miss and to making our own notes on the maps. The drawings help one locate specific areas more easily and MapEasy always seems to include those places you'll want to be sure to see. It's also far easier to carry a Guidemap than cumbersome travel books!

My Favorite Tourist Map!
I bought this map several years ago when we had a cruise stop in Venice. I had previously gotten one of Mapeasy's maps for Barcelona and thought it was great so we bought their maps for Venice and Rome as well and found both were just as great.I think the Mapeasy Guidemaps are just fantastic. They are my favorite tourist maps and I fund them much easier than other tourist maps to follow and I just love the notations on them. All of our trips to Europe have been on cruises and we've bought these maps wherever they are available for port stops or cities we're staying in before or after a cruise. I've used the map for Barcelona, Rome, Florence and Venice and they are all great.

The Map you cannot do without
These little "mapEasy" guides are the only ones I use. The significant places are depicted larger than the minor sites, there's restaurants, banks, pharmacies, etc. shown on the map along with the price points for eating establishments. I love that it's easily folded and waterproof. This particular map details San Marco, Rialto and the shopping areas. I loaned it to a friend for her trip to Venice, and loaned the Florence and Rome maps to another friend who is Italy now too. They're lifesavers (their words, not mine). I know these towns pretty well, but to the novice, it's the best map to use, I believe. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

The printer was low on Black ink.
I LOVE mapeasy maps. But I was so disappointed in my Rome map. The map's printer head of the Black ink must of been low, because the black printed as a Dark Gray not Black. So it was really hard to read. They sent me another one and it too was Dark Gray. My friend has purchased this map from AAA and it is Black. I feel I need to return this and buy somewhere else. So disappointed.
