Joico Intensity Semi-Permanent Hair Color, Amethyst Purple, 4 Ounce

Really pleased with how this is lasting. Pretty, intense color on my lifted hair. Does bleed a bit every time I wash, but that's to be expected. Only downside is how THICK this stuff is. I had to mix it with conditioner to make it thin enough to spread. Would buy again.

My stylist told me that this is the brand they use in their salon so I thought I'd try it. I was using the Ion brand from Sally's. Huge difference in brightness. I dye to cover my gray hair, so I don't bleach at all. I left it on about 2 hours and didn't use heat. I rinsed and rinsed, then I had to bleach my tub and my hands, this stuff stains! It grabbed onto that gray though and didn't let go, until I slept at which point it just transfered itself to my pillowcase. It's been 2 weeks since I colored and it's still pretty bright, although the color does bleed out every time I shampoo. Considering I have dark brown hair this dye does an awesome job! I definitely like this brand and recommend it.

Tube of color came sealed and in perfect condition. This color is made to be used WITHOUT a developer, it is straight color. I used this on level 8 bleached hair and diluted it 1:1 with conditioner and then saturated my hair from root to tip. It turned out PERFECTLY pastel and I have gotten so many compliments. This has been 4 weeks ago now and I still have a beautiful silvery lilac! I'm actually here leaving my review while I order my 2nd tube!

I love how easy it is to apply this color. I do wish that I'd had some kind of brush to brush it on with, but I didn't; so I just used my rubber gloves. In hindsight I really wish I'd used some plastic gloves. Running rubber gloves through your hair is painful, and not the most intelligent decision I've ever made in my life.I didn't want to cover my whole head with color. This is because, for about 4 days, I had a very pretty blue-green thing going on with my hair. I was mistaken about 56 times for a magical mermaid. After the second shampoo, though, it washed away. That's why I have the annoyed look on my face in the "before" picture. I just looked like a regular mermaid. NOT the magical kind.So, as I said, I used my hands to apply it. I believe the bottle says to wait for 20 minutes but I'm a rebel and decided to give it 30 whole minutes. Living dangerously. I clipped it up and kept it in a shower cap during the time it was being colored. I took a hair dryer and applied heat for about 5 minutes on each side of my big old pink dome.I rinsed, for what seemed like forEVER, and applied a generous amount of conditioner. I let the conditioner sit on there for about 2 or 3 minutes.I waited 3 days to wash it again. I was very nervous. I've purchased a color friendly shampoo and I used that to wash my hair. A LOT of color seemed to come out. I added some conditioner and let it set a few minutes. I was scared that when my hair dried that my color was going to be gone like it was before. But it was not! It's still colored beautifully!I'm taking to washing my hair about every 3 days (if I can help it) so that I can make this color last me a while. I just thrpw it up in a shower cap when I take a shower. It seems to work awesomely!

I LOVE this hair dye! I've searched for a long time to find the right shade of purple. Unfortunately, on my journey, I managed to damage my hair quite a bit. So much that it went from being long (down to the small of my back) to shoulder length (just below the shoulder). After a cut and many hair trims, the ends of my hair are still very porous and does not hold color well at all. I've tried all the different brands of hair color (any usual drug store brand, to anything you can purchase at Sally's, semi permanent, demi permanent, permanent, etc....) and all of them seem to wash right out in a week or two.This purple actually holds pretty well! And the best part is that it ends up fading to a very pretty maroon/burgundy color. It doesn't appear to be too pink to me at all. My hair is naturally very black (I'm Asian) and after so many rounds of lightening and dying, over and over again, when all of the hair dye is stripped, my hair is a very light golden yellowish color (a little brassy) and it looks terrible! This purple dye covers it so well, that you can't even tell that it's really ugly underneath! LOL I have purchased this at least 5 times now, and I just continue to touch up my hair when I want to darken or refresh the purple color, and it comes out beautiful every time. Definitely something that will be my forever go-to for purple.

Loveeee this color. I've used it for years and I even love it as it fades. I messed up once and order indigo instead and while I loved the color I didn't like it as it started to fade. Up until this past weekend I only used it underneath of my blonde but I decided to take the plunge and go all purple and it turned out great, I've already received a ton of compliments too. I did not bleach my hair before going all purple as the top portion was already mostly blonde and the rest was already purple(included before pic also)

Amazing product! Easy to apply. The color is so beautiful. I get a great deal of compliments. It fades really well. I use a no-poo cleanser, which hardly strips the color at all. I most likely won't have to color again for a while.

Beautiful, vibrant color. However, it stains everything! Clorox bleach pens have become my new best friend.
