The Goon Show Compendium Volume 14: Series 4, Part 2: Episodes from the Classic BBC Radio Comedy Series

The audio content is of course fantastic: a must for all fans of The Goon Show. The sound quality is as good as can be expected for these vintage recordings.What ruins this set is the careless printing of the two booklets, in both of which the pages are all over the place. That has happened before, making this doubly inexcusable. The BBC need to get their act together and make new, correct info booklets available to all buyers.

The publisher has admitted that the booklets were imperfect and are to be reprinted. Anyone wishing to receive a new set should register with Roshni Radia ([email protected]).

The sound is great considering the source material c/o Ted Kendall but the booklets are misprinted and completely out of order. This happened with Vol 10 as far as I remember (I no longer own the set) I have emailed [email protected] to bring it to their attention. Also due to those terrible plastic hinged trays the second disc snapped in two trying to be removed so returning for replacement. Another gripe is no tagging on the discs at all accept for track numbers so a right pain to rip files to portable devices. So overall a p*** p*** release imho.
