MTEL Early Childhood Practice Questions: MTEL Practice Tests & Review for the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (Mometrix Test Preparation)

I have taken and passed the Early Childhood MTEL so I hope my input helps. I used this book and I thought it was really helpful. It is ONLY multiple choice, but covers a great deal of child development content. What I loved about this book is that it gives the correct answer and an explanation WHY it is the correct answer. It gives A LOT of information and really cleared up a lot for me, especially with the educational philosophers. However, the math/history/science/etc questions are limited. You will need to study those content areas in greater depth. So basically, this was a huge help. I am sure it contributed to me passing, but do not rely on this alone. Good luck!

I found it so helpful to read the answers of the practice questions because it explained in detail why the answer was correct. Not only this, but the in depth answers served as learning moments for me!

Very informative booklet. Much more in-depth questioning than the practice test in the back of my study guide. I like how they explain not only why a certain answer is the correct one, but why the others are NOT. It makes the understanding of the questions come much easier!

These questions are NOT representative of the ones on the test!! I took the two practice tests provided in this book before taking the practice test on the MTEL website, and realized they're completely different. While the practice questions in this book adequately prepared me for child development-related questions, the book does not include ANY literature-content questions or specific disability questions, and no written response questions. Even the subcategories of questions are completely different.

I really like the book.

The Vice President of Mometrix test preparation included a Thank You letter on the booklet's first page. The caption reads, "FREE STUDY SKILLS DVD OFFER". The DVD is designed to provide the test taker with an additional resource to give additional material to study. The only "ask" is that you provide feedback and rate the product.The test preparation booklet is designed for easy reading. The booklet opens with the first 100 questions and answers with explanations supporting the correct answers.There are only two (2) practices test included. I would have like to have more included with this booklet. I support this company and its method of engaging test takers. I would highly recommend this booklet for anyone interested in studying for the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure.
