Odyssey U-Brake Brake Springfield – B Mounting Kit, Black Black

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve bought multiple sets of these Odyssey Springfield U-Brakes, and they’ve been excellent every time. They’re incredibly easy to install, and the best part is you don’t have to spend an hour trying to get the spring tension just right like regular u-brakes. Just bolt them on, and they’re ready to go with little to no adjustment needed. They save a lot of time and work perfectly. I’ll continue buying these whenever I need another set.

Easy install, high quality parts, brake seems to do the job quite well. It does come with a long cable and cable housing so if you going to buy this make sure you have something to trim those or just another cable that you could install. I really like how the brake lever opens up so i dont have to remove your grip for install. Fits fantastic and looks clean

I don't really like U-Brakes all that much, as they're hard to adjust and a bit quirky overall. These brakes don't even have a centering adjustment, so I was concerned that they would drag on one side, but they centered perfectly. Installation was very straightforward. The cable is the better quality with linear instead of spiral housing. Be sure to use a cable cutter if you have to shorten it, although you could use a Dremel with a cutoff wheel if you're careful. On to performance: I didn't expect much performance since they are, after all, just U-Brakes, and the pads are so little. I was thoroughly impressed with the stopping power when I took the bike for a test ride. I weigh about 170 and had no trouble stopping (or even skidding for that matter). I would definitely buy these brakes again, as they have just become my new favorite U-brake.

Bought to replace stock setup on my mongoose legion L100. Stock setup was hard to adjust and I ended up breaking one of the spring tensioners trying to adjust to keep the pad from rubbing the wheel. These were a tight fit, but after some adjustment, they work very well. The pads that came with them look cheesy, but stock mongoose pads fit right in. You have to use the cable hook as the adjustment, but once I got the hang of it, I found it much easier than the tension bolts. I used all the stock parts,I just replaced the calipers. Super easy and works great. Little tip: Don't bury the mounting bolts into your frame because it will slow the caliper reaction. Make it tight, but not impossibly so. I had to toy with these a great deal to get them where I want, but I am satisfied. I also e-mailed Odyssey customer service and surprisingly, the response was within MINUTES... I was shocked and happy.

Great universal kit. Now I will say because it is a kit that fits many different bikes and not every frame is the same you will need to mount the lever and calipers on first then route the cable to finally cut the brake cable and sheathing to fit. Other wise perfect stops on a dime.

I ordered 3 a while ago, the first two were great, I needed a few parts but I didn't expect the kit to come with them. The last one I am installing now and it's missing the barrel adjuster on the brake lever. It has stop my build for my 9 year old's BMX bike. He's frustrated and so am I. This part should have been in the kit. It was in the previous two kits. Pretty disappointed.

Brilliant and effective, stops on a dime. Has everything you need to hook it up, just have your tools ready. Installation was a piece of cake because the arms are held open via spring, making the tension easy to adjust -- no spring bolts necessary. This saves like half the work. The pads are interesting, they're fat and short but sleek and mean business. The pads are also designed so that they toe-in properly -- there's even an arrow printed on the brake pad to help you point it in the right direction. The price is right and the thing just works like a charm. Finally saying goodbye to my deadly stock brakes!

Installed this on my sons BMX a few years ago. He loves the bike and uses it always. This brake is exactly what we needed. thx

Ce kit n'est pas l'Evo 2 de chez Odyssey mais bel et bien l'ancien model Springfield beaucoup moins efficace et nettement moins cher. Le prix d'achat sur amazon pour ce modèle est proche du double en réalité. Nous sommes vraiment deçu et nous retournons le colis a l'envoyeur. Prochaine commande sur un site plus fiable en termes de références pour le BMX Je m'adresse aussi aux personnel d'Amazon de bien modifier le titre et de bien correspondre avec l'article, SVP.
