Aluminum Heritage Lefse Grill

My new lefse grill has not even come out of the box. So I can't really rate it. I ordered all my lefse making stuff at the same time, every thing arrived when it was suppose to, except the grill. Heritage sent me a second one. but I didn't get it tell after christmas. so we cooked our lefse on a cast iron grill. When I get around to tring it, I may love it. But for now I haven't even taken it out of the box.

Missing power cord. Had to send back. Was supposed to get paritial credit for postage. I the item was sent back timely and tracking indicated it was reeived. I have been advised by Amazon that they have credited me for the item and partial postage. If the item is pictured with the power plug in attached, I would hope that it is included. Is your credit goijng back to the credit card used or is it being held to use on furture purcahses? I don't think you are set up here to answer any questions. I don't see any credit yet. This is the second time I have been burned by sellers assoiated iwth Amazon whose products while packed in original box have missing parts. You were kind enough to i ncude a credit for apast purchse thie happeed with. I am maing a wish list and ope hat the credits show up thee in the checkout or on the bill.

This grill is good but not like I thought. There is a half hotter than the another. I use it for baking bread so it's a big deal for me. If you use it for another kind of food, you should be fine.

Now, to my knowledge there is not a better lefse griddle out there, but to be honest I am not overly impressed with mine (sadly). I've used it to make pancakes a few times and spent an afternoon this fall making lefse with my family, and it consistently has the same issue: the griddle works great while the heating element is engaged and bringing the surface up to the desired temperature, but as soon as it reaches the temp you have it set at the heating element disengages and then the surface doesn't hold the heat enough to continue cooking, so it slows markedly until it engages again. I don't know if others have had this trouble or if mine is worse than average, but I was kind of disappointed in it's irregular performance.

I was hesitant to buy the aluminum version. After having used it several times: Foods do not stick like I thought they might; it is very easy to clean; the aluminum is thick and very well made; the entire unit heats evenly. That PLUS it is made in the USA and I like the idea of supporting American businesses that operate solely in the USA. This is a fantastic unit and beats the other more cheaply made foreign versions to the ground. This will become an heirloom.

I use this grill for making Lefsa (Norwegian tortillas). I have been making lefsa for many years and without this grill the task would be much, much, more difficult. After the lefsa is grilled we put butter and sugar on it, roll it up, and YUM! YUM! Lefsa has been a part of my life for the past 70 years and the holidays are not complete without itas part of our meals. I have carried on this tradition so that my family will always have it as part of their lives as I did.

My wife's family has some Norwegian heritage so we make Lefse every year around the holidays. I bought her this grill and she loves it. The grill has adjustments to allow for different heat settings and the legs allow you to cook over most any surface. Very nice Product!

Because of the even heat, the Lefse Grill works very well in making multiple pancakes at a time. My wife can squeeze 4 medium pancakes on it simultaneously. This is not possible to do on the range without turning on multiple burners.Also works great as a large crepe maker.
