I wanted to wait and try these router bits before leaving my review and now that we've had a chance to use these in our woodworking shop for a few weeks I'm giving them a five star rating!!! I searched for days to find a really good set of tongue and groove bits and after spending hours looking at other competitors bits I found these Tacklife bits. I was so glad I came across these on Amazon because the three bits are a great price, very good quality made and very durable and come in one of the nicest aluminum cases for storing them I've ever seen. We've used about every brand of router bits on the market in our shop over the years and these router bits have performed as good if not better than some of the best competitors brands. We have purchased a few other tools made by Tacklife in the pass and been very satisfied with the performance of all of them and definitely would buy again in the future. I routed about 30 feet of groove and 12 feet of tongue in pine today, and the cuts were nice and neat for shaker style drawer faces and cabinets doors. I ran the router at a slower speed and gently fed pine stock. I had a fence set up on the opposite side of the pine to help keep the wood against the bit so I could focus on feeding the stock. I tried to make sure that the bit shank was set deep in the collet, as near the "K" as possible. Had no problems.

Excellent value. Most bit sets you buy just come in a plastic container but for just a few bucks more you get a case with inserts along with extra bearings and even an Allen. Who can beat that. Can't say for the longevity yet but I figure for the price this will last at least a little while then I'll replace individual bits as I need and still have a nice place to store them. The aluminum case is not great quality but if that is a reason for buying this instead of simy a nice bonus then I'd say just buy a good case. I ordered the 1/2" shank and all bits came the correct size. I also visually checked the T&G size mismatch issue some have complained about and it does not appear I will have a problem.

The tongue and groove works quite well. I’m extremely happy with these bits.I’m using a compact hand held router. I use a pair of boards to help make consistent joints. One in parallel to the board to ensure a consistent cut and a second clamped to the board that I’m cutting to limit the depth of the cut.The main thing is to shave an 1/8 inch each cut.My one complaint is the bits are bigger than the compact routers clear guide. The cuts need to be made below it . So, the problem is really the router and not the bits.

I bought this for the lock miter and it's ok but it doesn't work so well with the big box hardwood plywoods. It chips the inside layers of plywood off, I've read that better bits don't do this. For the price it works well though. It's a pita to get set up though, you pretty much have to use extra wood as test pieces to get everything setup, and even then it still didn't really go together all that well. I watched a few youtube videoes on how to properly get the bit set up so I know that you're thinking that i'm pretty much and expert now, AND I AGREE, but it was still hard to get setup. I really like how the wood locks together though, it makes glue up super easy.

This is a very good item for a DIY like me. I don’t think it’s made for every day use or heavy duty work. That said it is solidly made, well presented and has worked great for me! I would buy again... or other ones made by this company!
