Good, solid advice that will steer the buyer in the right direction. Remember, even after reading this book and others, getting a PPI done by a competent tech will keep you clearly focused on the purchase, not the dreams of ownership. No matter what car you are looking at, emotions can sometimes cause you to look right past a glaring failure, so always have two sets of eyes involved to stack the odds in your favor. Good luck.

excellent review
Have owned several of these models and much of what is said is correct. My biggest issue was the attempt by Porsche to remove the typical transmission noises from the interior via a big rubber cushion in the clutch assemble....this often failed and sent pieces into the entire clutch mechanism. Always replace with european clutch and not the rubber clutch assembly. Replace the chain tensioneers with the oil supplied tension upgrades noted on the 84 version.

Useful
Gives the reader plenty to think about and evaluate. Certainly a useful tool.

Easy to read
Good book and very easy to read. I just expected more pictures to illustrate some information. Very practical and useful.

Not worth the money
Would not buy again. Underwhelming amount of information, especially for the price. There were a few useful pieces of information specific to the 911SC, but majority was generic pre-buy advice. Two stars for the effort, but generally speaking I can find all of the content on the web for free.

Not Bad
The Peter Morgan book is a much better reference, if you're debating which to get.

Three Stars
General information thatโs not that specific for the model arcar

Overview of model only
It is OK, but in no way comprehensive. The engine gets scant reference. Go for something more detailed if you are serious about buying something as major as a 911
