Keeping this around for some time to time refreshing.
Anyone suffering from Panic Attacks or anxiety knows it is a struggle. To be able to put things into perspective with this book was very helpful. It is good to know that a lot of people suffer in silence. This book gives you some tools to help you when they come on. Although it is complicated and I truly believe that hormones, medical issues combined with trauma trigger these. Reading the book put me a bit more at easy. For all of you who suffer out there it is a great read and I recommend it!

Lucinda knows what she is talking about!
This was a great book for me to help with my anxiety issues! I used to have her Attacking Anxiety and Depression program on cassett tape many years ago and that was wonderful for me, but now that I no longer have a cassett player this book has provided a great refresher for some of the skills learned in that program, and it is very affordable! These skills have literally changed my life, I don't think I would still be alive today if I had not found Lucinda Bassett's program all of those years ago, and those skills continue to be useful decades later for me!

Very impressed
I think this book is very good for someone who have had a mild to moderate anxiety in their life like I am. Lucinda was absolutely right about the process of overcoming the anxiety and fear: recognize your anxiety, find a coping technique, and re-expose to the situation that creates that anxiety. I personally think that people who are still suffering from their anxieties are the ones who have not found their suitable coping techniques yet. This book gives you guidelines and ideas to overcoming the anxieties including changing your ways of thinking if they're starting to hurt you. After I finished reading it, I did gain a perspective on my dream and my way of thinking, which I was thankful for the writer. However, there is one flaw in the book. I don't think this book stresses well enough on coping techniques if you experience anxiety in a particular situation. She told you some ideas, but never really shows you how. Just like another reviewer, I think she's keeping all the good stuff for her program, which is really expensive :)

This book saved my life
I am 22 years old, a recent college graduate. I've had anxiety since my teens with a panic attack occurring probably once a year. I grew up with an alcoholic mother and my father died when I was 17. Life was a bit tough for me. I never knew what was happening until November of 2013. I had always brushed these feelings off as "I feel sick" or "I feel a little faint". Since it only happened once a year I just kept moving right along. It wasn't until November of 2013 when I had my first major panic attack out of the blue in a store. Sudden bad taste in my mouth, dizziness, feeling like I was going to faint, unreal feelings, totally out of it. I got in my car and went home early from work. This "feeling" kept happening every other day. I eventually took 2 weeks off from work, became afraid to leave my house and do ANYTHING (totally not me- I was a sorority girl!), too afraid to drive, fly, etc. Sound familiar? It wasn't until March of 2014 after about 4 months of hell, being afraid to go ANYWHERE, do ANYTHING, always feeling faint, that I had finally decided to try this book. I read this book every night for about a week and I noticed INCREDIBLE changes within that week. I could go out with friends by myself, do things by myself, not be afraid to drive anywhere (still working on the highway), etc. This book gives you CBT without having to go to the therapist (which is also good!). If you are like me and struggling with this dreadful problem, please don't hesitate! I would pay this price time and time again for my sanity. Lucinda is a God send!

Basic but if you have read any other articles books this is just more of the same
I picked up a few tips here, like catching the negative "what ifs" and replacing the with positive "what ifs" and catching the negative voice and writing it down, and replace it with what more constructive thing you could say instead. That's about it, the rest I felt like she just gave examples of how she basically willed herself to stop panicking and to move on and be successful. It didn't do much for me, I kept thinking that's all there is here? Perhaps it was a sales pitch for full sessions at her clinic? Overall a decent read, just don't expect it to change your life like all these people claim.

We must get through this, there is no other alternative than to get better...
A friend of a friend recommended this book to us ( a friend and I). At times just reading it made me feel anxious but as I kept reading I started to feel a bit optimistic. There are certainly days I look at my life and I'm like wtf; how did I get here?! All because of one huge episode of panic attack and my brain just shut off and couldn't take the anxiousness anymore. Its very frustrating; many days I wish there was a magic pill. I'm in this all alone; everyone says they are there for you but just for a lending ear and after some time they just can't take it anymore. Some days I wish someone would just take my hand and say everything is going to be okay, lets just walk around the block together. Im missing out on life and on opportunities that life is giving me but I'm unable to take. I know life is knocking but its so hard to answer that door and just do it. I'm halfway through the book though and I'm hoping it gets easier. It's so wonderfully written. I realized this anxiety is just more than agoraphobia, its a lil bit of a few different things. My best wishes to everyone who reads this finds strength to get better, I'm trying my best, you should too!

This book is amazing. I have suffered from anxiety and depression- on and off for over 10 years and despite counselling, CBT and medication couldn't really get to what's causing it. THIS IS THE BOOK. It helps you understand how you think, why you think and how you could use those awful thoughts to get you thinking more powerfully and positively. So it's not just the one where it tells you not to do things but to ACCEPT your anxiety and those underlying negative thoughts and change them.

Excellent book!
Now and then we all need some help with the angst of living. For some of us this goes to the extreme, but for most we just need direction for our anxiety. During my life, I have learned strategies for dealing with obsessive thinking and low-key panic. From these lessons learned the hard way, I have coached friends through some tough times. What I found in this incisive, easy to read book was an echo of my own words and insights. Reading through the pages, I found similar conversations that I myself have had with loved ones. When facts are facts and truth is truth, it is a constant. Here is good, practical advise from someone who truly knows where we all stand at one point or another. From her pain has grown a teaching that anyone can follow. The truth is that to move away from panic is both extremely simple and painfully hard at the same time. Like anyone addicted, the seeker must first admit that they have a problem. My best advice is to lose the guilt and just move forward, forgiving yourself any mishaps along the way. We are all human and flawed. Trying to be perfect is in itself the problem! Try for your best and go from there. From Panic to Power will show you the clear path to take. It is thankfully unencumbered by useless rhetoric and techno-babble.If you are looking for a helping hand, a way forward, a light at the end of the anxiety tunnel...buy this book! Read it. Follow the author's instruction and foremost trust yourself. You can do it! I highly recommended it to anyone who asks me : )P.S. There is an old English saying I often use and being English born feel the utter right to do so......."Cheer up! Might never happen!" Learn to say that to yourself. If nothing else, it might make you smile, and smiling is a start : )
