Overall, this is an outstanding buy. It comes with a battery, a little plastic pry bar, a surprisingly good-quality screwdriver, and an instructional video on DVD. The video makes it all work. As others have said, you can get through a battery change in about 15 minutes. I advise seeing the video through one time first and then running it and pausing it as you go through the replacement procedure.In every such procedure, there are "gotchas" -- little things that can cause problems or go wrong. I found only two.First, even the guy in the video struggles to get the case open using the little prying bar that is supplied. I recommend that when you're opening the case (after you've removed four screws), you use a medium-sized flat-blade screwdriver to get it started. There are little slots around the side: put the screwdriver into the slots and twist it. Then follow with the pry bar.Second, look closely at how the guy in the video opens the case when he finally gets it loose. There is a very fragile ribbon connector that runs between the two pieces that you separate when you open the case. The ribbon connector is the thing he moves to the side to get to the second screw that holds down the PC board. Open gently, be very careful of the ribbon connector, and you're good.That's it. This thing is a Godsend for me. I bought a factory refurbished unit that had a very weak battery. (Imagine how upset I was when I went walking in London and the battery died in about two minutes.) Very quickly, the battery became so weak that I couldn't even make it work well in a car. Thanks to this little kit, the Garmin is saved.

Seriously, this Garmin battery replacement kit was easy to use. I'm 66, have carpal tunnel, and have to wear reading glasses. So you can imagine I was a little nervous when I started opening up my gadget and taking stuff out. However, I did it without a hitch, and it only took 10 minutes. The only thing that was difficult was prying the old battery out because it had the stickiest two-sided tape I've ever come across. Still, the tool included in the kit did the job, and I reused the tape for the new battery. Reassembly was smooth as everything snapped back together pretty darn easily.Would I recommend this product? Absolutely!

OK, a reasonable person might just buy a new GPS unit, but replacing the battery in mine was WAY more fun! The included pry tool and tiny torx screwdriver were very helpful, as were the instructions. I had a problem with the head of one screw in my unit that was stripped, but when I got that out the rest of the process was fairly simple. Also removing the circuit board would have been easier if I had remembered to take out the micro-SD card before I started. I won't know how long the replacement battery will last, but it has already given life to my otherwise dead GPS -- overall a very rewarding project!

Didn't want to toss my nuvi away as I purchased a special lake chip for ice fishing. This kit came with the replacement battery, tools and instruction DVD. If you can change a light bulb you can change your garmin battery with this kit. Take your time and watch the video before you begin if you get nervous. This kit brought my device back to life and will purchase again if needed down the road.

The tools and video made the replacement easier than expected. The Garmin case is challenging even with the tools. The battery was charged and ready to go as soon as I plugged it in. Has been holding a charge very well.

You could not supply(as advertised) a T4 screw driver that would work after the first screw??? The metal material in the screw driver is so cheap it was rounded off after removing the 1st screw. Because of this, I was forced to purchase a new driver consisting of superior metal allowing for the additional screws to be removed. If you purchase this item add an additional $12 for a better quality driver to remove the screws.

Hi ::: Great Product !! The tools that came along with the battery are exceptional . You just can not do the installation without these little tools . The battery , I believe is much superior to the Garmin factory installation . The video , is a MUST , as this is a tricky installation , and not to be tried , unless you know the sequence , which the video explains clearly . Too bad , I find out , I did not need a battery , but now , I have a reliable spare . Great Company , and even faster shipping , even to Canada !!

Instead of using instructions on the enclosed CD, I followed the ones on Youtube. The tools provided made removing the case and battery easy. Putting it back together went just as well. Turned on the GPS, the screen flashed GARMIN, and went blank. So, I figured, I had just fried the system. It so happened that the next video on Youtube was on how to reboot a Garmin GPS. Having nothing to lose, I followed those instructions, and the GPS has been working well ever since. Trust this helps.

Well, the problem didn't seem to be the battery. The Garmin was reating the same way with the new battery. So i can't saythat there was a problem with the battery. I just got rid of the Garmin and bought a new GPS, a TOMTOM this time.
