Really helped disolve solids and clean up the filter, didn't whiten it as much as expected.
I'd neglectfully left my spare filter exposed to the elements for a few weeks. This caused the lower half of the filter to go green/yellow with algae and really not look at all healthy.I purchased this filter cleaner with the intent to do a full clean on the filter and hopefully return it to a "like new" condition.I used a 5 gallon bucket and followed all instructions. Unfortunately for me my filters are very large, so only half the filter was submerged at a time, which made things a little trickier as I had to soak it twice.Checking the filter after a long soak of more than 12hrs each side showed that it definitely contained much less visible solids and had improved in color, but there was still quite an obvious tinge of algae. In the end to remove the algae tint, and appease my inner perfectionist, I just soaked the offending end of the filter in a bleach solution over night and it came out absolutely sparkling.I didn't have any issues with bubbling, but I did make sure to rinse it off very thoroughly multiple times, and I'm sure the additional bleach soak helped further rinse the filter. To get the best performance from this product I would strongly suggest that you first heavily rinse the filter with a strong stream of water to remove as much solid dirt as possible. Once rinsed, then just follow the product directions. The more you get off before hand means the cleaning solution can spend it's time dissolving the tiny problem particles deep within the filter.I'm happy with the performance of this product, it's not designed to be a bleach, it's intended to dissolve various solids and help loosen the dirt from deep inside the filter. I believe it accomplished this task admirably and will be purchasing more in the future for cleaning my other filter.

Brady Bunch suds!
I have a Jacuzzi J-345 hot tub that is only 6 months old. Display started flashing "CF" and the water was looking foggy. I use Baqua oxidizer, sanitizer and Waterline control weekly to keep water looking great and I test strip it every week to make sure levels are good. When water started looking foggy the test strips showed things were A-OK so I was pretty certain a good filter cleaner and a filtration reset is all that was in order. Well, this stuff is good but after following directions exactly and rinsing very well and allowing the filters to dry overnight, I got massive bubble-age! Don't tell me I didn't rinse them enough. I soaked the filters overnight and then rinsed with a high pressure hose until all bubbles and soap ran clear. Then I let them dry overnight. So yah, the filters are clean and they're working great but man oh man, I was scooping so many bubbles out of the tub that it was literally like one of my favorite Brady Bunch episodes! Not worth it. Next time I will buy two new filters and save the hassle.

I was skeptical, after trying a lot of other methods to clean my current filter. However, the product returned my clogged filter to a fully functional one. I've reused the mix twice now on two separate filters and will try it a few more times before throwing out. I still have enough solution in the bottle to mix another batch also. I found that having two filters allows me to let it soak for a few days, then dry out before the next use. The solution isn't cheap but it beats buying another filter every time one clogs.

Easy to clean your filter at home
My pool/spa store charges about $10-$15 to clean your filter. You can use this excellent product at your home for great results. I use a 5 gallon bucket- put my filter ( from my hot tub) in with Filter Fresh and leave it overnight. Just empty the fluid in a safe spot ( I use the graveled area by my garage to avoid it going in with any plants) and rinse your filter using a garden hose nozzle. I rinse out the bucket and store the extra filter in there after it dries. So easy and I always have a clean filter available to use. I had it recommended to me by the spa store and have used it for over ten years now.

This was very helpful in getting my clogged filter good as new. We have had so many problems in the past in our pool with filters getting clogged more and more often and requiring cleaning with greater frequency until it became impossible to keep up with. It must have been building up minerals or oils like they say but I gave it a long bath in this stuff and the filter came out running like new. Thanks!

Tip: You can re-use the solution a few times. Sure beats buying new filters.
Did the trick for the little filters on my pop-up pool. It turns out to be much cheaper than buying new filters. One tip is to re-use the solution for a few filters - don't just dump it out after cleaning one. Mix up enough solution to soak one or two dirty filters. After 24 hours pull them out and pop in the next dirty filter. You can do this a few times before the acid in the solution wears out. Another tip is not to put your hand into the solution to pull the filters out.

This stuff is great, and you can use a lot less than it says on bottle. I use about 1/2 cup in a half full 5 gallon bucket. Soak the filter and turn it over to get the other side. I let it sit overnight and hose it off.
