Excellent Immersive Sound Mix ..Kudos to Auro 3D...
Update:3 months back,I've installed Auro3d 10.2 setup . This Blu-ray is one of the reference material to check the Auro3d system.Very Immersive and the Dynamics are absolutely impressive.Excellent Immersive Sound Mix...One of the best Immersive Audio mix I have heard ...Thank you Amazon & Sony for bringing Auro3d Blu-ray to India. The movie is an Sci-fi Thriller and good one little bit slow..Coming to the Audio part ,since it has Auro3d encoded sound mix , for those who are not having Auro3d setup ,it will work with DtsHdma 5.1 lossless track ( since it is backward compatible and Auro base layer is 5.1).I watched this film in Dts HDMA 5.1 with Dts Neural X upmixer since I don't have the Auro3d setup ,but even Dts HDMA 5.1 sound track itself have given an Immersive sound mix which I'm imagining how wonderful it could be with Auro3d 10.1 setup.Hope in future more Auro encoded sound mix may come.

Dynamic bass with excellent sound mixing gives a masterclass experience. Its a really premium film. And the Indian blu ray transfer has not been ruined (thankfully). It will blow your mind.

Mind blowing Sci-fi Epic
Blade runner 2049 was undoubtedly one of the best movies of 2017 and people who have seen it know exactly how exceptional the movie is in terms of special effects and sound mix let alone its superb cinematography. Blade runner 2049 is an unmatched experience. It's a marvelous visual extravaganza. Now instead of giving a conventional review for the Blu-ray, I will discuss on the positives and negatives of this release.First, the Negatives-1. Worldwide the Blu-ray was released on 16th Jan, 2018 while in India it was released on 20th April, 2018. Don't know the reason for such frustrating delay.2. All the other editions of the movie (except in UK) get the awesome Dolby Atmos mix while we are getting an Auro 3D mix here in India. Now I have absolutely no idea what percentage of Indian population are equipped with Auro 3D capable systems or even heard of this technology. Auro 3D requires at least a 9.1 or 11.1 or 13.1 setup for full utilization. So logically speaking, this soundtrack is useless for most of us.3. Some of the special features are missing on the Indian release let alone the lack of a special features disc as in US editions.4. Most irritating aspect of this release is the absence of Steelbook version. The steelbook of Blade runner 2049 looks superb and it's really disappointing for fans like me see to such watered down release. The Positives-1. EXCELLENT, TOP NOTCH, SUPERB picture quality. Enough said. Don't watch it, experience it.2. Though the lack of a 7.1 mix is disappointing, the 5.1 dts-HD MA track on this disc is absolutely reference quality. The audio design is first rate as the front soundstage along with superb surround activity create an awesome 3D like effect that places the viewer right in the middle of all the action. Well placed and precisely defined sound effects make it the Gold standard of surround sound design. LFE presence is terrific. Warn anyone before playing this disc as the bass here is insane. This audio is mighty and powerful. After much delay finally the Blu-ray has been released. Don't know why the Indian versions get such poor treatment from such big studios. Its high time such discrimination ended as we are also paying a lot for the discs and deserve the best in terms of quality and quantity.

A good sequel
This is the 2017 long-awaited sequel to the (now) iconic 1984 film Blade Runner, which starred Harrison Ford a Deckard, a Blade Runner who hunted down and retried Artificially Intelligent Androids called Replicants. This movie is set 30 years after the original movie. We find out that the Tyrell Corporation has been taken over and is now the Wallace Corporation, run by Niander Wallace (played by Jared Leto). The corporation still makes replicants and has basically turned them into slaves, and the Earth has become a dystopian nightmare, in large part due to an electromagnetic pulse that wiped everything out in 2022. Ryan Gossling plays K, the most advanced replicant (a Nexus-9 Replicant) who is a Blade Runner that hunts down and retires rogue replicants. In the process of retiring a replicant at the beginning of the movie, he discovers evidence that replicants can reproduce biologically, and this leads him, through a series of events, to finding Deckard (again played by Ford). I will not spoil the movie for those who have not seen it, but if you have seen the original movies, similar themes play out in this movie that did in the first one.For those who get the 4-k blu-ray, it is a two-disc set with a UHD disc just containing the movie and a regular blu-ray with the movie and the extras. The A/V quality of the UHD disc is top-notch, pretty much what I would call reference quality. There are, of course, a lot of CGI effects in the movie, and everything looks seamless so, if not for flying cars and the like, it would be hard to tell what is real and what is not. The extras include two longer featurettes, one 17 minutes and one about 22 minutes, that focus on casting and the look of the new movie. Then there are a series of prologues which are prequel shorts to the movie that provides some backstory. The longest is just over 15 minutes and the other two are around 6 minutes. Then there are a series of short featurettes that total 11 minutes and can be played all at once, which cover different aspects of the Blade Runner world. Then there is a trailer for the game that was released around the same time as the movie. All in all, the extras total about an hour and twenty minutes, give or take.Overall, the movie is very good. The writers did a good job incorporating parts of the story from the original film into a new, updated movie, and made it work. The cast is very strong and includes Robin Wright, Ana De Armas (in her first major role in the US), and Dave Bautista. The movie even finds a way to incorporate Sean Young's character (using a similar kind of CGI and real actor blend that was used in Rouge One) from the first movie without her appearing in person (although she is still credited as appearing as Rachael). Like the first movie, it is hard to classify what genre this is. It is a movie that has a lot of action, but it is not really an action movie per-se. It is a mix of action, drama, philosophy, and thought experiment all rolled into one. The acting is top-notch with Gossling doing a great job taking over the leading role, and Ford steps back into the role of Deckard well. It is a worthy follow-up to the first movie and is definitely worth watching.
