My Grandpa LOVES it!
Let me start by saying that my Grandpa is a very curmudgeonly person and very few things make him happy. Vanilla ice cream, M*A*S*H, his pair of boots that his pinky toes hang out of and his cigarettes are about all that I can think of. He can't hear well, he has little to no feeling in his fingers and he refuses to wear his glasses. *sigh*That being said - he freakin' loves this phone! He used to have one of those gianormous brick cell phones from the 80's. He had to give that up about 7 years ago - no - not kidding!! Since then he's had the same Nokia. Unfortunately he dropped it on the cement and it broke into a few dozen pieces. Never fear, he had a plan! He enlisted my mother to go down to the AT&T store and buy him an identical phone. Surely they would have it. Surely! After almost 2 days of arguing and ATTEMPTING to explain to him that his phone was OLD... they didn't sell it anymore... and no you can't buy used phones from AT&T... why don't they keep the used phones and sell them - IS a good question, but we don't know the answer... Go ahead and write a letter to the president of the company... telling him we understood that he wanted to move to Canada now, to get away from the "Commies" who make cell phones... (He really needs his own show. He's quite animated and hysterical when he goes on rants) - my mother and I gave up! Then... I went on Amazon and searched for cell phones for seniors.I found this gem of a phone. I almost want one myself, I love the big numbers, its so cute. Before purchasing it I read that the numbers are almost as big as dimes - they are! I ordered 2, one in white and one in black - on a subsequent rant he complained first about not being about to see white lettering on black and then later, vice versa. He is currently using the white one and loves it to pieces. He can read it, the numbers are big enough for him to see, and the ringer is ear-shatteringly loud. He walked out to the street at our family business which is located on a frontage road along a busy freeway, and we stayed in the office and called him and we could hear the ringer from there - and he could hear us over the freeway traffic. Its very basic, no confusing screen or displays. Its got a programmable emergency button on the back. And the radio is fun too.The only cons we've run into is that he turns the radio on, on accident a lot and it does feel a little flimsy. BUT he is in is 80's and he still drives a big ol' bobtail truck and delivers palettes of goods for a living. He carries this phone around with him everywhere and has dropped it, left it in the back of a freezer truck and sat on it several times - and it still works.Give it a chance, its a good little - big numbered - phone.

If this kills the battery sooner a new one seemed pretty cheap so figure it's worth it) Also got one ...
Update on the phone. It worked fine for about 3 months. Then the phone started cutting in and out as well as having a lot of background noise. We called the company (everyone we talked to were actually very nice), they required we trouble shoot the phone with them. When this didn't solve the issue we were told to take it to T-Mobile (we have the phone on our plan there). T-Mobile reset the SIM card. This also did not resolve the issue. While the phone is under warranty we would have to send it back for "testing" paying the shipping both ways or pay a "deposit" of the full price of another phone to get one sooner. If it is determined there is 'nothing' wrong with the phone I gather we would have just bought a new one plus the shipping both ways (purchasing it through amazon prime saved us the initial shipping cost). At this point I am not comfortable with a phone that failed so quickly. We will be replacing it with another brand.Bought this phone for 85 year old with vision problems (as well as technology problems). Switched out her old flip phone. Much easier to use and see. We added it to our T-Mobile account keeping her existing number. I just took the phone to our T-Mobile store and they set it up.I also got the charging base.much easier for her to just put it in the base than plug in the cable every time. Another benefit is it gives the phone a 'home'. I said she should always leave it on the base so she knows where it is (not remembering where it was was a problem with the old phone. If this kills the battery sooner a new one seemed pretty cheap so figure it's worth it)Also got one of the cases and it works fine and no problem fitting in the base with the detachable insert. Her only complaint is she doesn't care for the ring tones, they are pretty loud even at lowest setting but that's not a bad trade off.Very pleased with the phone, especially for such a reasonable price.I deactivated the alert button since it's not needed.
