I put these on a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. One of the OEM shocks had started to fail which meant it wasn't lifting the back entirely. Not quite to the point where it wouldn't go up at all, but certainly lost its "oomph".I snapped off the old ones after loosening the retaining collar, put these new ones in and popped the collar in place, and boom, done.For the install itself, since I didn't have a helper, I used a 2x4 scrap of wood that was long enough to reach from the ground up to the fully extended rear door. At one point I did accidentally bump the wood and dislodged it but since I was doing just one at a time, the force of the door hitting me on the head wasn't too bad. :) Just be smart about it and have someone assist by holding the door up or do a better job than I did of propping it in place, and do one at a time "just in case".The new ones have been working great. Less noisy than the old ones, I think, and they do a full extension to raise the door all the way unlike the old ones so they're handling the load just fine.

Exactly as advertised, shipped quickly, installed easily. These struts hold my hatch at the high limit, and don't fade after being opened. PERFECT....

First off, these was less than half the price of what the dealer would charge; and boy do these struts deliver. Now when we open our hatch, the door shoots up quickly and goes ALL the way up (our old ones would lift but not all the way so we were occasionally banging our heads on the low overhang if we didnt pay attention. And for $50 our mechanic was happy to install them (recommended so you don't have the headache). All in all, you'll pay well under half the price vs. going to the dealer, and your door will lift as good as new!

Many users on here complained about how fast it opens or how hard it is aka not soft. I still bought them thinking well if it's bad I will return them. Turns out they were wrong, they work perfect, they lift the gate higher then before, it does not wipe open it actually works like a new set, soft open and close, installation was a breeze, 5 min tops.

Value was better than local parts store easy to install and nicely made product
