While it does its job well, I could be more satisfied.
My first inclination was to give this product only 3 stars. I didn't because ... well, its flexibility. While my favorite steamers are best used in my pressure cooker and larger pots, this one can be pretty much used in anything 2 qts and up. When I have used it for smaller amounts in my smaller pots, I wasn't exactly thrilled, but it did do the job well. The problem is that if you want to use it for fresh string beans, or things of that size, they will generally poke out of the holes, and you may lose a couple if you're not particularly careful. The same story with broccoli florets, unless you cut your pieces large (I typically only use florets). A popular use seems to be for boiled eggs. I don't want to be bothered with it for eggs. I'll just use a spoon and place the eggs right in the pot. What would make this a 5-star product was if the holes didn't expand as you filled the bag. Because it does, my favorite "flexible" steamer is https://www.amazon.com/Vegetable-Steamer-Silicone-Healthy-Cooking/dp/B00ZT7FDYW. But, as you can see, it is a totally different style and therefore not as flexible about what size pot in which it can be placed. I've purchased at least 5 steamers in my search for the perfect one that will be able to be used in anything from my 6L pressure cooker to my 2qt pots. If I were only looking for a steamer for my pressure cooker, this one would be my favorite ... [...]

Boil Buddies really is a Buddy in the kitchen!
I often need to boil water as I make a lot of pasta in my house. I am also teaching my teens how to cook. I would worry they would have the stove on too high and cause the water to boil over. I tried lots of remedies like adding oil to the water and placing a wooden spoon on top of the pot to prevent boil over. None of these solutions worked as I had hoped. I decided I would try the Boil Buddies and see if they worked. I am happy to report the Boil Buddies did work and it has made my time in the kitchen is now less stressful. This works exactly as described. I would highly recommend this product!

These are a fun way to steam large veggies without intermingling them.
Plus for easy removal from pot, minus for how hard it is to use the "drawstring". Plus for being able to just add a bag of veggies in on top of the main dish item. Minus for how difficult it is to get the aroma of the cooking out of the silicone afterwards. I've used silicone strainer steamers for ages in the microwave, so expected some leftover aroma, but these seem to be really intense. I've tried soaking in lemon juice. Next try is steaming in lemon juice water.

Air Fryer & Instant Pot Silicone Net
We own four Instant Pots and one Phillips XL Air Fryer. With the Air Fryer, the fries stick to the stainless steel mesh so you have to shake the drawer every 2-3 minutes. With this Boil Buddy, problem solved. When steaming baked potatoes in the instant pot, the grate provided with the Instant pot is insufficient, especially with "New Potatoes". Any time you need to steam small items, the grate is a poor solution. Boil Buddy is the best solution I can find at the moment. just put the food in the Boil Buddies and put the boil buddy on the grate above the water line.

HOLDS ITEMS SECURELY, QUICK & EASY TO USE
It works well - I've poached tomatoes & its a breeze. The bag drains quickly so pulling it from the boiling water and peeling the tomatoes was quick and easy. The tomatoes were held securely too. It could be a little larger & the tension a bit easier to achieve. Nonetheless, a terrific tool and works well. No need to worry about burning yourself using this.

Older version may have been better... but these are still useful goodies in the kitchen
Funny, but I actually preferred the older model with the little flower bit that pops into the middle, instead of this one with the hard-plastic center.... instead of being a perfectly-fitting lid for recipes that say to "cover tightly and simmer", the new version is like leaving your lid at a tilt.... which sort of negates the need for a boil-over buddy anyway.... maybe a little monkeying with the hard plastic bit can help with this - I have yet to try. They're still good for setting a pot to boil with nothing in it but salt water... and I still stand by them.:)
