Functional and beautiful Cat Tower
The Lotus Cat Tower not only provides the cats with tons of entertainment and places to nap/comfortably spread out - which is a feature that many cat trees do not have - it is also a great looking piece of furniture. The cats were occasionally catching their claws on the carpeted areas so I ordered the Lotus Platform cushion set from the retailer. The cats now love to comfortably jump from level to level and they also have a great vantage point for looking out the window.Immediately upon unpacking the box, I realized that the Cat tower was not like ordinary cat trees. It is well made and very sturdy. The tree was easy to put together and they included a Phillips head screwdriver. It actually took me longer to clean off the tiny styrofoam pieces from the tower. I know I'm being nitpicky, but I wish they had not used sytrofoam sheets to pack the tree, it is a pain cleaning the mess the pieces that break off the sheet. The cats use all the levels including the little cubby hole at the bottom. I have a shorter cat tree next to it and they're constantly jumping from one to the other. The Cat Tower is well worth the cost as it is an elegant piece of furniture that fits into most decors. I do recommend trading out the carpeted levels for the cushion set. It makes the Cat Tower look even more beautiful and gives that cats a much softer and comfortable place to sleep.**Update**The cats enjoy the Lotus Cat tree so much that I've purchased a second one for the office. As both cats love high places, it is not unusual for one to be on the top of one while the other is on top of the 2nd tree.

Beautiful piece of cat "furniture", but where are the replacement pads/covers?
After many years of buying (and replacing) those hideous carpet covered monstrosities (including making our own), my husband and I decided to purchase the Refined Lotus Cat Tower in Espresso in Jan 2019. It is a fabulous piece of furniture and I do mean "furniture". It sits in the living room with our Ekornes furniture and looks like part of the set.The cushion covers unzip, the carpet pads come off, and you can machine wash the carpet pads (if you have a washing machine with a hand wash cycle). Note: this is my personal experience and I cannot make this claim for any other washing machine. If concerned, always follow what the manufacturer recommends.About a year ago, we brought into our home a Balinese kitten and he recently showed great interest in the tower and started perching on it. In the past, the tower was used by another cat and we had sprinkled catnip on the pads. The Balinese is a bit unusual in that he is very sensitive to catnip. Normally, he is very loving and playful. But if exposed to catnip, he hisses, growls, swats, and attempts to bite. This is when we found you could wash the carpet pads. However, the catnip smell apparently remained after machine washing and sun drying the pads, cushions, and covers. Whether the catnip smell remains permanently in the pads or in the wood, I have yet to find out, as Amazon does not seem to offer the replacement pads. (Turns out I had to go directly to the Refined Feline website to order the pads and they were quite reasonable and shipped quickly - Christmas 2020 hint: check there for sales!)One other comment, the price. When I purchased this 22 months ago, it was $330 and it has since increased to $400. Is it worth $330? definitely and it is still worth $400 (watch who you buy from). In six to seven years, you will spend around that much on decent carpet versions ($50 - $70 each), not be able to clean them, and then throw them away in six to twelve months if you are fastidious. Meanwhile, the Lotus will still be beautiful and functional. It is hard to find any other cat "furniture" out there that is of similar quality and style. So kudos to The Refined Lotus, you made a beautiful and lasting product!Amazon? Please stock those replacement parts!.The price? Your decision.picture 1 - after 22 months - hidden until new pads are foundpicture 2 - only damage to one corner of pad, catnip nibblerpicture 3 - King Rufus on his throne (with a new pad!)

Looks a bit more sophisticated, as far as cat trees go.
We had a white fuzzy cat tree that we got from a local pet store, it was okay, our cat never really did anything on it except scratch the sisal pole and climb to the top most platform to nap. Lots of wasted tree real estate. The old fuzzy tree looked out of place in our living room too, it was time for an upgrade. When I saw this Lotus Cat Tower I thought this might be a good compromise if we were going to keep a cat tree in the living room. The color is okay, would have preferred a more walnut option. It made from real wood, not particle board, so that's a plus.Assembly was straight forward. The cat doesn't use the cubby hole, or the padded cushion above the cubby hole... so it's been relegated to cat toy storage. Scratching pads at each level are a plus, he uses those. He does not use the one on the side... can't win 'em all.Our cat is 12 pounds and when he jumps up to the top the tree wobbles and shakes a bit.We kept our old tree in the garage just in case he didn't like this Lotus Cat Tree. It took about 2 weeks for him to adjust. I was worried the whole time thinking I just wasted four bills on a cat tree he hates. However, once he figured out the new method of getting to the top quickly he seems to enjoy it now... well he has no choice, we donated the other cat tree.Overall I think we are both happy now.

Stylish and Good Quality
I ordered this from the UK having seen it on a TV show (My Cat from Hell). Being in the UK my cats are outdoor cats but I still wanted something for them to climb indoors. It ended up costing a lot as I had to pay import duties on top of postage and packing but still worth while. I was able to put it together by myself without help and I'm very pleased with it. It is a bit big for my house but it looks smart for cat furniture, it is practical as I have 4 cats and although they get on well sometimes they want their own space. It doesn't ruin my sitting room because it's a stylish shape but as it's so big I am unable to put it near a window which would be ideal (it would block the whole window). It is under my staircase but my cats can see out of the window.

Wonderful cat tree
Yes, it's pricey but it is totally worth it. The cats love it! This shipped out quickly, arrived in original packaging with some bumps and bruises from shipping, but thanks to the careful packaging by Refined Feline, there was no damage to the pieces. The instructions for putting it together were super easy to follow and the hardware even comes with a screwdriver, which is the only tool you need. If you've ever put together Ikea furniture, this is basically the same, but much higher quality and no leftover pieces at the end. My husband and I put it together in under 40 minutes and it looks fantastic in the den. I read some reviews on here that say it's wobbly or unsteady when it's assembled, but there are adjustable feet on the bottom that let you level it out. Ours was a little wonky on one side, but a few quick turns of the feet and it's totally steady even when our big 14 pounder jumps around. It took the cats a few hours to get used to the shelves and pass-throughs, but now it is their favourite piece of cat furniture in a house that has two other enormous cat trees, multiple beds and scratching posts and more toys than most pet stores. Our senior girl has no problem getting up to her favourite perch at the very top and she adores laying around in the curved top piece. Our big boy hangs out wherever he is allowed to and they play on there together with no difficulty.Overall, this is an excellent piece of furniture and while I would certainly have preferred a lower price, I can't fault the quality of the materials.

Beautiful and love it absolutely !!
High quality materials and nice wood, it really worth the price we pay. I have four cat and they absolutely adore that refine cat tree and i absolutely love it too. My youngest kitty was seating on the box when it arrived and i didn't ever start to open the box. Its was heavy and very big box. That's a real furniture for cat. You pay what you get and it bring you a little luxe in your house. If i have more cats, I'll get another one 😂❤❤❤

Worth every penny!
This cat tree looks excellent and is well made. A little expensive compared to other cat trees but I'd rather buy one good quality cat tree that will last a few years than continue to replace cheaper quality cat trees.

Beautiful, and almost perfect
Let me start by saying this is an amazing cat tree, even if it is expensive. It's beautiful, sturdy, and mostly very well designed. We've had ours for 6 years now and it's still in great shape. The cats use almost every part of it - they lie on the cushion on the bottom, on the steps, and love the curved top part. The only thing they don't seem to use is the cubbyhole in the bottom, for whatever reason. Perhaps it's where we have the tree, or some peculiarity of our cats. Nevertheless the cubbyhole could be useful for other things, and it would probably fit a small litter box. The wooden panel beneath the cushion comes out, so it's easy to open up the cubbyhole and do things like vacuum it out.The design is good overall. The cushion cover comes off and is washable. The scratching pad on the side screws on and the carpet pieces on the steps and top Velcro on, and you can get replacements, which is good because our cats love to claw the carpet pieces. Our cats didn't use the scratching pad on the side, perhaps because of where we have the tree, or perhaps because our cats are smaller and the scratching pad was quite high up the side. We removed the scratching pad and put it elsewhere in our house, lower down, and they seem to use it there, which is nice because it, like the rest of the tree, is of pretty good quality. One of the few problems is the little wooden plugs that are included to cover up the screws. Some fit tighter than others, and many pop out over time, especially as continued use of the tree makes the screws loosen and push them out. This isn't really too bad as the screws aren't too noticeable and don't look bad, so we just leave them exposed and the tree is still beautiful. Also you'll need to tighten the screws from time to time so having them open is convenient for that too. We've never regretted what we spent on this, and we got a free-standing scratching post from this company as well. It's also nice looking (so that visitors usually think it's some kind of decorative wicker vase), and of very good quality. We have one cat that used to claw our furniture, now exclusively claws the post, and has yet to put much wear & tear on it.
