Updated review: 1 star. Drive is clearly cheap, probably fraud/knock off. Front plate doesn't stay in place (top flexes and bends in) when installed in my PC and so CDs fail to eject. I can remove the front plate and instead disks completely eject from the machine, fall out, and bounce around the room.The old drive's metal case was substantially more robust and the front plate hooks in properly instead of having the top of it kinda flopping about.I guess I pull it out again and see if I can find anything otherwise interfering with the drive, but I'm doubting that's the problem.Original review:The label claims to be the same drive, made by Panasonic. I... don't think I really believe it. I have to insert the disc substantially further to get it to take it than the old drive.The old one also seems a touch heavier and is made 2014, claiming to be made in the Philippines. I didn't weigh them both, because I didn't notice that until after I did the swap and the new one was in the PC.The new drive works, so I guess that's good. Minus one star for feeling sketchy and being over five years old.
