ALEX Art Magic Tracer

It worked as good as you would expect. Only giving it a 4 star because the plates don't snap into place so it was easy to move and difficult to readjust and have it exactly where it was. I removed the plate and taped my pages down.

Great item. I love toys, games and crafts that my daughter can do on her own. This is simple to do. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is I wish it was a tad bigger. So it can hold your standard 8x11 piece of paper.

I wanted to try drawing by reflected images, like artists have done for centuries, but the serious products were expensive, and I didn't feel like trying to make my own. This little kit works perfectly, and I might try to incorporate the smoked plastic page into a larger stand. Glad I tried it.

It's important when you use this that you view from left to right through the divider and not change your position so that you don't lose track of what you are copying. You also want to make sure that object on paper, that is in left side, also doesn't move while you are tracing. For the price of this, I would say that it does not work as easy as i hoped it would.

I needed this for a project for school since I have no artistic ability at all. Definitely a life saver when it comes to drawing, especially if you can't free hand. It was easy to use and worked perfectly. I'd recommend this for people of all ages. Much cheaper than alot of more sophisticated tools and worked just as well.

Although I'm not a kid (in fact I'm a grown woman), this was given to me as a gift to help out with my (very small) art skills. I agree with the previous review. This DOES take patience (and some practice) to master, but it isn't impossible. Also, it's WAY WAY better than Digi-draw, for the Magic Tracer is simple to put together, the trace mirror/reflector stays in place, and you can easily adjust it to help you out even more. The ONLY bad thing about the Magic Tracer is that it come with JUST ONE trace mirror/reflector, meaning if you break it...you're screwed! So be sure to take good care of it. ^_^

Tracer part is hard to see unless the lights are dim, paperMoves around and doesn’t stay securely under the clips, and the picture you are tracing moves around easily as well making it a pain in having to keep realigning. If you are steady and don’t love a thing it does work but it’s difficult for my 4 and 5 year olds as well as myself to keep all the papers perfectly in place. Comes with 3 pictures to trace and a few pieces of paper and pencils otherwise you have to cut your own paper to fit, find pictures that fit and the colored pencils- are terrible quality and don’t show well.

Simple design, looks a bit cheap, but it works! My daughter loves drawing and she loves this..

I bought this for my 6 year old son as part of a theme of gifts on art. He loves it!

Looked good idea but left handed grandson hasn’t got to grips with using it upside down yet - sure he will though.

I had one of these a few years ago and it was A4, perfect for young students to copy drawings.It was only half the size of an A4 piece of paper.Still works great and does the job just only A5 sized.

Good educational product and is fun.
