Great All Around Jacket
Since no one has reviewed this product yet, I figured I'd give a comprehensive review. I did a ton of research of the top coats of 2017 before buying this one and I couldn't have been happier with my decision. My overall assessment is that if you are needing a great all-around coat for city wear or hiking in weather between 25* - 55*F then this is the perfect coat.I tried to address all the key attributes. A 5/5 means I think this jacket is the top performer in that attribute's category.Attributes:Weight: 5/5The Butte II is supposed to be heavier than the Butte I but the overall weight is so light that I can't imagine you would notice or feel the difference. The coat is surprisingly light for how well it insulates.Comfort & Feel: 5/5The outer material is a soft nylon and is relatively quiet when walking. The inner silver, reflective lining also feels like a nylon material. The overall feel is light with great mobility. You could use this coat for hiking or daily city wear.Water resistance: 3.8/5I took the coat to Alaska and it rained almost every day. The rain was light but enough that a regular shirt would have been soaked. I felt absolutely no water seep through and the coat dried very quickly. When I got to my hotel, I shook the coat out outside and the water droplets flew off - which tells me that the outer lining is moderately hydrophobic. I imagine it would perform similarly well in snow. (The 3.8/5 is only because you could find a completely waterproof coat, but keep in mind that comes at the expense of losing other attributes)Wind Resistance: 4/5Wind resistance is good. The nylon outer material coupled with the inner reflective material made it so virtually no wind pierced through. I was on the ocean water at 46* F and was fine with the coat and a T-Shirt underneath. I have not tested it in high wind gusts, but at 10-15mph winds it worked great.Performance: 5/5 The lowest temperature I wore this coat was 40*F with only a T-Shirt underneath and was completely warm. The Alaskan weather was windy and rainy and the coat performed great. I imagine you could wear the jacket in snow and be fine if you had an inner layer.I give it a 5/5 on an assessment of cold weather to around 25* F. This coat isn't meant for an Arctic cold winter. I would probably opt for a bigger down jacket if I were to travel up North during the winter. For the size/weight of the coat however, I do not think you could find a warmer coat that is thinner.Compressibility : 5/5. The coat fits great in my bag and because there isn't an inner fill, the jacket compresses well.Price: 4.5/5At $115 this is a great price. Similar performance coats run $200-$280Style: 5/5The color of this jacket is nice. The white Colombia logo displays well on the front and the dark blue zippers are a nice touch as they match the coat's color. I like the dark blue because it goes well with the silver lining. The Butte II maintains it's shape better than the previous model and consequently doesn't wrinkle as easy, which is a nice touch.A minimalist look is important to me. I didn't want an everyday coat that felt or looked 'thick'. Most jackets are filled with an insulated liner, but the reflective material on the inside of the Butte II eliminates the need for a thick insulator, so the coat looks very thin and modern.Fit: 5/5The coat fits as expected. It doesn't hug the body and doesn't feel baggy. I'm 180lb and 6'1 and the large fits great. There are pockets on the outside and a phone pocket near the collar on the inside. There's also a draw string close at the bottom to tighten and prevent heat from escaping

Lightweight - Not Bulky - Fit as Expected
Going on a cruise at the end of October down the St. Lawrence making several stops in Canada and New England. Temps expected to be in the 30s - 50s range. Need a warm jacket that is lightweight and easy to pack, not take up a lot of space in suitcase. I had originally wanted the Columbia Men's Mighty Lite III jacket. (My wife has the women's version of the Might Lite and it worked beautifully in temps down into the teens, plus it is very lightweight and doesn't take a lot of room in the suitcase.) But I couldn't get the color I wanted in the size I wanted. So after MUCH searching I found the Columbia Men's Crested Butte II Omni Heat Jacket (and in the color and size I wanted.) It seems to be almost as lightweight as my wife's Mighty Lite and it has the Omni Heat Lining which kept her very warm in much colder temps than I expect we will be in on this trip. I am 5'8" and weigh 180 pounds (in decent shape) which put me right at the top end of the medium size range. I was tempted to order a medium but decided that it would be better to have a little wiggle room if I decided to do some layering if we ever went to colder climes. I ordered the Crested Butte II Omni Heat Jacket in a size large, color black. The fit is exactly what I wanted. It hangs nicely, doesn't restrict my movements and if I do want to layer under it I have the room to do so. It is not puffy so you don't look like the Michelin Man walking around. The medium would not have given me the room to layer or the moving comfort. Based on my wife's experience with her Omni Heat jacket I'm sure I will not have any problems staying warm. The Crested Butte II does not have a hood which is something I did not want anyway. I prefer a hat or a cap instead of a hood flapping around the back of my neck when not in use. It does have a collar that can be turned up and goes to about the middle of the ear. It says it is rain water resistant and seems to have the same outer shell that my wife's jacket has, so while not waterproof it should do well in wet weather based on her experience. It has two zippered outer pockets and an interior zippered security pocket.

Like it very much
Like it very much, fit is good except for one minor issue, I'm 6'. 2" 198 pound guy and for me I think it could have been about 2 - 3" longer in the overall length. I bought the large cause there don't seem to be large tall in this particular line of jacket and was afraid that the XL was going to be to wide in the mid section, with the fit I'm getting I could layer up with not to much of a thick sweater, haven't use it yet but am confident that it's going to get the job done. UPDATE. After using the jacket for the last several weeks I have come to the conclusion with so many other reviewer's of this product that this thing keeps you warm if not hot as hell. Have used it in strong windy low 40's to mid 30's weather with two layers a light sweater and T-shirt and after moving around outside for several hours my second layer the T-shirt was starting to get damp and felt a little uncomfortable, so I have resorted to using it in comparable conditions with just a T-shirt and found it to keep me with just the right amount of warmth and comfort that I'm happy with, also this thing is a killer wind breaker the omni heat technology really work's so this is now my go to jacket, it's so light you don't feel burden down and can move freely. I have updated my rating's to the full five star's definitely a great jacket to own.

It's getting very cold here in the Cleveland area. The Omni-Heat Jacket is effective in helping to keep me warm. It is light weight and very comfortable. It's a little too expensive but has proved to be worth the expense.
