i would recommend this text book, it helped me alot
The book was exactly what it said it was, the topics were complete and well explained, it covered the blue print for the fpgee topics, its a must have for any one preparing for this examination, the comprehensive pharmacy review isn't bad but it is so detailed and doesn't cover all the topics for the fpgee for example, the anatomy, physiology, health care & public delvery system, pharmacy management, pharmacoepidemology, ethics etc.In my own case I bought the comprehensive pharmacy review from amazon, started studying it but wasn't covering much because the topics were to broad and detailed, I was told about the fpgee by a friend so I quickly ordered one from amazon, that was close to my examination date, I studied it from front to back only once and by God's grace I made it, I passed my examination. I would recommend the reference guide 1000 question & answer, it prepares you before hand what to expect in the examination. I would advice do not study the APHA text book all by itself because its only a summary of all the topics, the comprehensive pharmacy review could be used as a reference textbook to expand knowledge.Good luck

If you want to pass your FPGEE ..this is THE book
If you want to pass your FPGEE. this is the book !!I passed my FPGEE reading this book. The chapters are concise and to the point. The exercise at the back of each chapter helps a lot. Additionally, the summary of the chapter helps. The chapter on clinical science and management are what you need to know for passing the test. However, this book is NOT enough for pharmacology/medchem, you have to supplement that from lippencott or katzung (that has good med chem)Also, for calculations this book isn't enough, you should refer to naplax review, or mannan.other than that I find that this book is essential for passing the FPGEE.good luck for anyone taking the exam !!

MUST for FPGEE preparation!!!
Initially I was bit suspicious about this book. However, after seeing my FPGEE (April 2015) score, I fell in love with this book! Almost 95% of my fpgee preparation was from this book. If you read this book at least 3-4 times, there is more than 90% probability that you will not only qualify, as a matter of fact, you may even end up scoring high! Causal reading may not help, however if you keep revising this book, taking notes and try to understand the concepts from this book thoroughly, I am sure it will help to most of the test takers. Additionally I studied during last few hours some management concepts from Manan and Shroff (2-days before exam!) and also tried to go through approx 500 mcqs out of 1000 mcqs from Manan and Shroff due to my apprehension following reading reviews from various websites, however, that helped me just marginally (not much). So the take home message, is if you want to feel confident about your fpgee preparation, in my opinion this is the book! Good luck to all test takers!

Great book
If your looking to study from only one source which was my case, i would recommend this book. I graduated 3 years prior to taking the exam and worked for the majority of that time as a medical rep (i got really rusty). Put the effort and this book will be enough, good luck

Useful
This book is really helpful especially for FPGEE but pay attention that this one is the first edition.

Good book for review
This book is the best resource for the FPGEE. The topics follows the blue print from NABP. Most of the chapters are short & concise. It doesn't get five stars because the chapter on federal pharmacy laws did not live up to expectation, it just listed the websites where the relevant laws can be found. I expected it to talk about the relevant laws even if briefly. For that topic one definitely needs to reed it in another book. CPR by Shargel does a far better job on that topic. Overall it's a good book and I will recommend it.

I found this textbook as very helpful!
I took the FPGEE last April 19, 2013 and passed...I found this textbook as very helpful. I made my own strategy of studying and found this textbook as very helpful. Most of the questions were taken from this book...Dont waste your time!

You will fail the FPGEE if you study only from this book. Comprehensive Pharmacy Review is far superior.
I am a Canadian pharmacist who wanted to get licensed in the US. I wasted a month studying this book before I abandoned it to focus on the Comprehensive Pharmacy Review. I passed the FPGEE (Sept. 2013) and realized that THANK GOD I went to the CPR because the questions were so specific on the exam that I would have failed miserably if I had used only this book. This APhA book was NOT worth the money or time that I spent on it.The content was seriously lacking. It doesn't go into enough details to call itself a "review" book. For example, there were topics whereby one diagram or chart would be enough and this book has long, convoluted, confusing paragraphs written about it. The only good thing about this book is the appendixes at the end. Not nearly enough details in the book for the exam. It glosses by important concepts and lacks even the most basic of diagrams and drug structures. It's confusing and frustrating to read as it explains nothing. If the APhA touts this as the comprehensive review book for the FPGEE, perhaps they are trying for the students to fail on purpose.Don't waste your money on this book. Go study the CPR and another source for pharmacy management and health systems organizations and you will be set for FPGEE. If you cannot get through the CPR, you will not pass the FPGEE or the NAPLEX.
