TakagiT-H3J-DV-N Condensing High Efficiency Natural Gas Indoor Tankless Water Heater, 6.6-Gallon Per Minute

I ordered two Takagi tankless (condensing) hot water heaters from Amazon. The actual supplier was Global Pro Tankless Supply, Inc.Global Pro called me a couple of days after I placed the order with Amazon. They wanted to make sure I actually wanted TWO tankless water heaters (I did) and did not ordered two by mistake. Shipping was fast.Installation was relatively easy. As in any situation when you upgrade from a tank heater to a tankless, make sure your gas line is large enough to support the tankless. I had to upgrade my lines (from 1/2" to 1"....though 3/4" would hhave been enough). The Takagi tankless heaters were solidly built and worked falwlessly.Thereafter, I called Takagi for a Certificate to file for my tax credits. Takagi said I have to get the certificate from the shipper .I called Global Pro and asked for the Takagi Declaration to file for tax credits. At first, they told me I don't really need a certificate. But my CPA pushed me to get one. Global Pro, rather than just blowing me off, Justin Malave, Operations Manager, investigated and secured the Takagi certificated for me. I was pleasantly surprised when Justin sent me the certificate a couple of days afteer my call.Overall, I was impressed with Global Pro/Justin's service attutide and I highly recommend buying from them.

Let me start by saying Takagi customer service is absolutely excellent. It’s located in Tennessee and every single time I’ve spoken to someone I have gotten great help and walked through how to navigate technical issues that are causing error code 111 (ignitor failure). Please know it is extremely important to have these units installed by a knowledgeable technician. I believe the units themselves are excellent but after dealing with several gas valve failures over the years it’s critical that the unit is installed properly. This review is meant to help anyone thinking of using this for radiant floor heating. Within a year the gas valve failed. Note that although many websites use these units for radiant floor heating Takagi is not guaranteeing them for radiant heat. We have replaced the gas valve three times and every time after about nine months of use it fails again. Stay tuned for how/why this is happening once the Takagi recommended technician comes out to replace the gas valve.

the last one lasted 15 year with out a problem one, the last one was not earth quake prof so i would suggest flex line for the gas and water lines to the connections this i think will give it a better chance with a earth quake not pushing and pulling on the joints

This is my fourth Takagi install over about a 8 year span. It's a quality reliable product thus far.

Clearly states that hot water is available ‘ON DEMAND’, which to mr, means right away; as needed. This unit actually takes LONGER to heat up the water than my ancient 28 year old tank water heater did. Not worth the 3X as much price tag. P.S. it’s over $100 cheaper from another vendor on Amazon - shop/price this out amongst vendors - don’t get swindled like I did!

I'm disappointed in how it was shipped. As you can see in the attached picture, i wouldn't take this home from a physical store. Well, I had a guy scheduled to install the next day so I couldn't do anything about it. And I just HATE returning big items like this, I'm sure they know this too. Just hoped it was not damaged, one screw cover was missing. From asking another purchaser a question, I realized the bird screens and warranty card was missing also. I called customer service and got replacement screens. As for warranty, He told me it's faster to register online. So I did, except it won't take the serial number so I can not complete the registration. I'm serious, there is something fishy about the whole thing. especially paying for a big $ item like this, just doesn't sit well. I have emailed customer service again, waiting for reply.As for the heater, it is working as expected. It was really nice to take a bath with my son in my Jacuzzi tub without worrying about hot water running out. But California water is expensive so it's a rare treat. When I do the dishes, I consistently turn the water on and off between dishes. I worry if it's hurting the unit, I mean it barely gets to light the gas before I turn it back off again. There is a port for condensation water to run out, to me it's a cool bonus. The water is very acidic so I use it to water my blueberry bush. I just got it so I can't tell you how reliable it is yet but I'm happy with it so far, just didn't enjoy the purchasing process.

This is an awesome tankless water heater, however it when it arrived the box was falling off

Love our new tankless water heater, very easy to install. When we opened the package there was a small dent on the side of the door. It was obvious the unit was packaged that way. Contacted the vendor and they shipped a replacement door out right away. Great unit, couldn't be happier!
