This hat is super warm. If you live somewhere that gets cold in the winter its a must have. It fits nice and snug. I find it to be comfortable and it seems well made. Plus it just looks nice with my leather aviator jacket.

I live in the north where it normally gets down to the 20s-30s F with windchill all winter. I was tired of not getting proper protection and warmth from knit and fleece hats... Especially wind chill on my ears and face. Following the advice of other buyers I went one size up from my normal hat size, and it fits perfectly. It's high quality, real sheepskin/wool, and very warm. The flaps, when tied in a loose knot under the chin, do a great job with cold wind/warmth. Highly recommend!

I hate reviews when somebody just gets something and they write a review before they even use the item. IMAGONNADOIT. This hat arrived and is everything the 5 star reviewers said it was. I had to put it on and wow, it went on like a glove and felt marvelous (thanks Billy Crystal). I'm looking forward to work tomorrow on the clay courts with temps in the low 30s and wind in the teens. I'm out there for nearly two hours at dawn so I've been out there when its cold here in NW Florida. My old knit watch cap just isn't fitting well. The important stuff: -My head measures 23 3/8" -No odd smell noticed -Looks better than the picture -Stitching, looks professional Update: Dec 29, 2018 Had a lady stop me to find out where she could get one of these for her father for Christmas. I've worn it when temperatures were in the 30s, best investment I've made. Even 25 mph winds have not penetrated it. My head is warm and cozy. I must agree with the other reviewers who said you must buy this hat.

Bottom line- the hat is very warm. I have been outside in 2 degree weather with a wind chill and I didn't even feel it. Nicely warm with wind protection- what more could you ask for. Definitely runs a bit small - it may be because the fur on the inside is so fluffy. If your hat size is near the upper part of the size range-definitely go one size up. The hat does have a tendency to creep up on the back of my head (hits the collar on my coat) but when tied it stays put. I wish that the ties were about an inch or two longer and not made of leather. The leather ties probably won't last as long as the rest of the hat-I would have preferred that they were either a snap or made of polyester (for longevity). The fur is somewhat coarse, I expected it to be a bit softer, but it feels fine on my nearly bald head. If the ties were a different I would have given this hat 5 stars.

When it’s cold nothing is warmer than this style hat. It has so much versatility. I wore this style hat in the U.S. military in the 80s and 90s and my head, ears and neck never got cold not even in sub zero temps. Buy a size up being a little less snug is actually a benefit.

This is one of my favorite things that I’ve ever purchased from Amazon. It is the warmest of all of my hats and the quality and feel of it are luxurious to me! Totally recommend.

I got sold a factory second for $40 from Amazon Warehouse Deals. When I went back to try another "Warehouse Deals" item, I saw the seller did not offer that option anymore. A few other customers may have had problems with "factory seconds", but that seems rare, given the great product reviews. Made of real wool and sheepskin, inside and out. The "Cashmere" hat I got was not as pictured in listing, with a mottled, variable, off-color outside. The inside wool is made with pieces that have large gaps and broad seams showing. The thin leather tie-string broke off while tying, where it was poorly attached to the hat . I tried to return it for an exchange, but a refund was the only option Amazon gave me. I was contacted by the seller after I initiated my return, who offered to replace the product to insure I was satisfied. Nice. A better product would be made with all wool inside, not patches of sewn-in pieces like this one. The inside nylon seams are durable, tight, but broad, as shown in other customers pictures for this hat. I was hoping for an all-wool inside, even if the top is made in pieces sewn together. That would only matter if you need at hat for extreme cold, since the inside is not one piece of wool. The seam at the top is a good feature when walking, moving, since it allows a little more cooling on the crown of the head. The top-seam is more of a concern when you are sleeping with the hat on, like when camping in freezing weather. You would need to put an extra wool sock on top of your head, under the seam, to conserve heat. ;o) Since each item is hand made from natural materials, there is bound to be some variability in quality. If the hat doesn't pass inspection when new, contact the seller, who was concerned about my problems, and got me a better hat for a replacement. (If you buy one, tug on the strings, (but don't yank), to be sure they won't leave the hat-flaps flapping in the wind ;o) Treat the leather with a waterproofing conditioner (ie. mink oil) once a year and after it gets wet, and store it in a dry place. This durable hat will last decades, or longer, if you take care of it. Gentle cold wash with detergent made for wool (Dr. Bronners Castile Soap, Woolite, etc.) and air dry ONLY if it gets dirty. It will shrink a size or two if put in a heated wash or dryer. Made in Turkey.

Fits great, well made, looks like it will last a long time. The seem in the center of the forehead is quite itchy and the hat less fluffy than the pictures (despite brushing it out). It is still the warmest hat I have, and beats all the ones I bought in the past hands down. There's also a slight smell to it but that is expected with this kind of product, and it isn't overwhelming. Overall a great purchase, but I wish the forehead seem wasn't itchy. Update; After wearing this hat all winter including windy -20 celcius weather, the seem in the middle is still annoyingly itchy, high wind comes through in the back under the ears and a little under my chin so I purchased a winter liner (that also gets rid of the itchy seem issue). If it wasn't for the gaps and itchyness, this hat would be absolutely perfect. With the liner, my head/ears have been warm all winter, and despite the daily use, the hat still looks new!

It was great experience! I was some issues with delivery, but seller was nice and totally control all situations. But quality of product could be better for this money
