YAMAHA11B4 Trumpet Mouthpiece (YAC TR11B4)

Bought this for my son who is now a decent player, as I was a player too in my young age days I always thought Bach 3C was the way to go. My son wanted to try this as his friend was using and it's basically a same spec and much cheaper than Bach and seems he likes this Yamaha more than the 3C I got for him. I'd say this is a great alt to 3C and it's great

My son loves this mouthpiece! He is 14 and has played for 3 years in school and privately. He has done honors clinics at the university as well. He plays a Bb Trumpet Yamaha 5335Gii and likes this mouthpiece better than the 14B4 that came with the trumpet. I believe this one is a little more narrow?

This is a good mouthpiece for the price, basically said. I'm pretty sure the plating is not silver, but it's only $30 so it's worth it, and I've been using it for maybe seven months and it's barely faded at all (but it's still not chrome-y like a silver mouthpiece would be).Playing wise, the mouthpiece creates a nice dark tone, so it's good for concert band, and I was able to produce a G (above, above the staff) on it whereas I had only played a D or an E on a Bach 7D that I use for jazz.Overall, I would say that this is definitely a good buy for anyone looking for a good, all purpose, inexpensive mouthpiece.Hope this was helpful!AgeSome specs:Plating- Stainless steel (I'm pretty sure, or some silver alloy)Cup Size- Medium-shallow (more shallow than medium)Tone- DarkRecommended use- Concert/marching band
