Great Drums! The maple shells give you a nice tuning range. I wanted a deep, punchy sound so I changed out the stock heads. The 18x22 bass drum is a cannon-love it! The walnut glaze finish really must be seen in person. These drums look stunning! All the bearing edges were smooth and right. The snare drums that come with these kits have a pretty bad rep online. After reading many reports of people spending a lot of money to change the sound, I opted for a cheap fix and installed an Evans hydraulic head tuned very tight. I was quite pleased with the result. I think this shell pack is a real bargain.You really can't do much better for the money. Appearance wise, they are more beautiful than most kits costing 3 times as much! As for sound, they're all maple shells that sound better than many of the super high end kits of previous decades. I am very happy with my purchase! :)

Sounds great

Great all-around kit. Purchased the 4-piece rock(22,12,16,14sn). very quickly swapped the stock heads for some coated emperors and have been very satisfied. The walnut glaze is a great finish and looks very professional. excellent quality. You can't go wrong with maple!
