Fits and works well!
I have a Sony a6300. This fits in the camera, and the battery door does NOT need to be removed. The cord can feed through a little rubber hatch on the door, thus allowing the door to completly snap closed.I've read a number of reviews of these type of battery inserts, where the camera's software still seems to indicate that the battery drains over time - the camera seems to be hardwired to assume the battery always discharges at a defined rate, or something. However, this definitly was NOT the case with my a6300. I did a 12 hour time-lapse run, and the battery indicator showed 100% for most the time. It did occasionally drift down to 90%, I assume because the AC converter's voltage had a little drift, but again, most of the time it showed 100%, including at the end of my 12 hour run.Workmanship seems to be quite decent and sturdy, and the wires seem plenty strong. The AC adapter can convinently be disconnected from the battery insert, thus I may build/buy a large external battery to connect to it for times when I'm not near a power outlet and want to run for an extended period of time.Overall, this seems like a good product for a decent price.

I have a Sony SLT A55 and the description says ...
I have a Sony SLT A55 and the description says it is for my camera. It plugs in and powers up the camera, and can operate all functions except actually taking a picture. As soon as you press the shutter button the camera will open the aperture, and power off, and restart. As an engineer, I compared the specs on the power supply to actual readings use multiple tests, and the power supply fails under and load over 0.6 amps. It says 7.6 Volts at 2 amps, but fails under a load. The adapter that goes into the camera can be used with another power supply, and works flawless. So the stats on the AC adapter are wrong. I purchased an adjustable AC powersupply at FRYS ELECTRONICS, and pluged it into the battery adapter, and everything works.

Product Doesn't Work As Advertised
I have an original Sony AC adapter and purchased this adapter as a secondary unit for use when travelling. The price is low enough that I wouldn't feel bad if I left it in a hotel or accidentally broke it. The adapter itself looks good. It fits nicely in the NEX-5 and the cable fits in the notch in the NEX battery door. The cable going to the 'battery' portion is a lot lighter of a gauge than the Sony adapter. Sony uses 18AWG wire while this adapter uses either 20AWG or 22AWG.The reason for the 1 star is that this AC adapter appears as a battery to the NEX-5 and actually behaves like one. When I turn on the camera, with this adapter plugged in, the battery indicator shows 100% but after taking a few exposures the percentage starts dropping. Eventually the camera reports "battery exhausted" and shuts off. If I turn the camera off and on again, the battery indicator displays 100% again. Either I got a dud unit, or the product isn't compatible with a NEX-5, or it's just junk. It's worth noting that the same camera works flawlessly with the Sony AC adapter (which doesn't register as a battery with the camera.)

Enables use of larger external batteries
I bought is kit purely for the battery adapter part, allowing me to power my Sony A7rii via an external portable DC power pack. For this it works perfectly well!Build quality seems very good, and does the task at hand. I use it with the XTPower MP-10000 External Battery Pack with 10000mAh using dual USB 5V and DC 9V / 12V 2A output for many devices. Wall and Car Charger included. and plan to get this Generic Battery Adapter Base Plate for Canon LP-E6 Lilliput 569 663 FEELWORLD FW7D FW619 Monitor so I can run it at the exact correct voltage but with a larger battery.

Worked just fine.
I use this with my a6000. When i turn on the camera, it says 100% battery, then it decreases. When it displays the battery exhausted symbol. It does not turn off. It stays on. Took an 8 hour timelapse as a test. Worked just fine.

Wow! An excellent cheap alternative to the Sony branded adapter!
We use this adapter on the NEX-5 and 5n for timelapse photography. It works excellent! Just pop in the battery and you're ready to go. There is a small issue that the battery indicator shows that it is empty, but it's a minor annoyance that has no impact on the camera. We've been using the adapter almost constantly since July (It's October now), and it's continued to work without any issues. When the Sony branded version of this costs $80 on Amazon and this can be had for less than $20, there's no reason not to give it a go!I was skeptical because there were no ratings when I bought the piece, but now that I have it, I can confidently rate it 5 stars.

Excellent quality with just one problem...
I always get a little worried ordering inexpensive Chinese-made power supplies. However, when this one came I could tell it had an excellent build quality. I was afraid of it running hot while continuously powering my Sony Alpha 37 camera that I use just for long-duration time-lapse photography but it never gets hot at all. In fact, it doesn't even get WARM - the product is as cool to the touch as if it was unplugged which is encouraging. The reason I dinged this 1 star was because the cable that comes out of the battery housing (shell) is NOT put exactly in the right place to be able to comfortably close the battery/memory card door. It CAN be done, but you can see that the door is under visible stress when it's closed all the way and would likely deform over time. The cable should be slightly adjustable like it is on Canon AC adapters but this one is fixed in place. Fortunately the little clip that usually holds a rechargeable battery in the camera is easily able to hold the battery housing that comes with this adapter so I just leave the battery/memory card door open all the time. Not ideal but not too inconvenient for the price.

so far so good. I'm happy with it
It works but doesn't do anything to eliminate hum through 'house' power when your audio is coming from another independent source which isn't necessarily tapping into 'house' power. This is often the case when you need to use a constant power source with your mirrorless camera, so I'll always have to record separately and sync in post.Otherwise, so far so good. I'm happy with it.

Great power supply at a quarter of the price of the original.
The power supply is working great with my A7S, the camera show 100% battery and the percentage goes down until 0% but the camera still worked for hours after the camera reached 0%. For the price i think this power supply is more than worth it.

Works great in my a6500
Just used this to power my a6500 for two, 2-hour record sessions (in 1080p, but uninterrupted). Worked like a charm.

Just perfect if you plan to use your camera on tripod, for a while, with power nearby.... a must!

Works
Does it's job as described, cord gets quite long with the 3 lengths, that might be a bonus to you or just a problem for managing the cables if your AC supply is close to the camera.
