Zwölf Fantasien Für Querflöte Ohne Bass / Twelve Fantasias for Flute Without Bass

A challenging set of unaccompanied pieces for grade 6+ flute. Nice sturdy, cream coloured paper. Enjoyable, varied Baroque pieces. As with most pieces from this era, few dynamics are written in. It is up to the player to add their own crescendos, diminuendos, ‘volume’ etc, to differentiate sections of music. Be prepared to put in your own slurs, and accents. The intermediate player needs to do some work, on these pieces. If you just play the notes on the page, as written, the result will be bland and uninteresting. You either need to have the skills to do this already, or have a tutor to guide you. This will enjoy this book for years.

The printing in this edition is clear and the typesetting is good. You can find many good recordings of the Fantasias online; I don't need to tell you about the music, you already know that when you buy this you are getting a wonderful Baroque collection that you will enjoy for years to come.

Nicely spaced on the page. Grade 6 upwards I’d say. Good because doesn’t need accompaniment.lots of jumping distances and fast sections but there are slower sections too.
