Hold a lot, but some basic design issues
Roll top is fantastic, bag is always cinched down with no movement. Holds as much as my 40L pack.However....Kelty is repeating the same mistake across their packs. When packed, the water bottle holders are too tight to use (32oz nalgene), I have to take off the pack to re-insert the bottle. Pockets should looser and have more depth.Hip pockets cannot hold a regular size phone (samsung s8, not the plus version)Chest strap should have a whistleNo integrated rain cover - at least include a rain cover that can be stored in the hydration pouch.External stow panel should have stitching to allow for accessory loops

Lacks Support
Really wanted to like this bag but it was too unsupportive. The plastic sheet used as the interior frame is very flimsy and would bow and wave with the load. Loved the stash pocket and the roll top that lets you add or remove volume. Exterior bladder pocket is a plus. Padding around the waist belt and shoulder straps is a little thin. At the end of the day it just didn’t have enough structure for my needs. Thought about installing a thicker sheet but that kinda becomes more work than it is worth...

I had such high hopes...
I got this bag thinking it would be my go-to bag for long day-hikes. I'll probably need to keep looking.Pros:-Its comfortable. The hip belts work well. I've loaded it up and used it all-day several times. It was always very comfortable.-Lots of nifty features. This is one of the hallmarks of Kelty. At the risk of being "over-engineered", every detail has something unusual. Like bungees to wrap up your extra strap length.Cons:-Not sturdy. The side compression and hip buckles feel very flimsy. I'm confident, they'll be the first thing to break.-Not versatile. If you try to do anything with it other than putt stuff in it, and put it on your back, then you'll start having trouble. I tried to lash a tripod to a half-full pack... no bueno. It doesn't have daisy chain loops for lashing anything on. The existing bungee doesn't feel strong enough to hold up a 3lb tripod.-The side bungee pockets suck at holding water bottles. I usually hike with SmartWater bottles and Blender bottles. They fall out constantly. Stop to tie your shoe? bottles fall out. Hop to a rock? bottles fall out. Stumble on a root? bottles fall out. lame.-The 1-inch strip of velcro doesn't hold the bladder compartment closed. It has an external bladder compartment (which is an awesome feature), but it won't stay closed. I've tried everything from 1liter bladders to 3liter bladders. They fit, but the weight of the water proves too much for the flimsy piece of velcro holding it shut. I might replace this with some sort of button.-The roll-top gets annoying if you're using the side-compression straps to lash things down. Every time you need something from the main compartment you have to fiddle with compression straps, because they work together.All-in-all, its an okay bag for a walk in the park. But if you need versatility, look elsewhere.

Perfect day/overnight pack
Took it up Mt. Washington in NH. Perfect day pack. Held my essentials including a down jacket, rainwear & food, first aid etc. Plenty of space and packed down because of the roll top. Used a 3l water bladder that fit very snugly into the incorporated external bladder pocket. It has two useful external pockets, one a decent sized compression pocket were I stored my map, compass, a a small zipper pocket which isn’t too big. Ok for keys and a small wallet. Has loops for attaching trekking poles and other gear. My go to pack for all future trips. Total weight with water was about 13lb so it’s lightweight too.

Kelty moves with the times!
Excellent quality as is true with all Kelty products. The external hydration sleeve and substantial hip belt with pockets really set this daypack apart. I was very impressed with the design and materials used. It's still very light.
