why pay a mechanic $100 an hour?
Clymer has always made some of the best, easiest to understand and most comprehensive manuals available. They reach a good balance between the "what end of the screw driver do I hold?" and the experienced mechanic. Clear easy to understand with lots of illustrations. Absolutely necessary for the do it yourselfer. Now, did anyone see where that widget I dropped went?

Not a mechanic
I like the manual. My one complaint is the skipping around one has to do in the manual to get a job done. I wish that for things like changing antifreeze the manual included a complete line by line procedure for doing so. I know it would increase the size but it wouldn't have to be for everything and I'm sure after I do a "job" a couple of times I won't need the manual. Another thing the manual should include is some warnings upfront in a procedure about things like what to expect in terms of spilled gas and how to minimize it. That being said I do reccomend the manual.

Very detailed!
Best for the DIY Mechanic. A MUST have!! Ntm, you're getting the most detailed, step by step (in most cases) on disassembly and install.

I can't imagine owning a bike without this manual
I still get a lot of my service done at the shop, but I do a lot of things myself now. I have already saved several times the cost of this manual and I have only had it a short time. Easy to understand, step by step instructions. Very good illustrations. My only gripe is that they repeat illustration numbers with every chapter, which can be confusing. Other than that, it's great.
