It’s for just in case! Hopefully they’re never needed, it breaks the window out of the car.But if it’s needed we all have one in the car.

Obviously have not needed to use one, but they seem sturdy and well built. Bought this multi pack as Christmas gifts for friends & family because I believe that every single car should have one. Make sure you instruct them & your passengers exactly where to store it and how to use it. Not good to be kept in a locked glove box, stressful situations will make it too difficult to get to.

Living in a city that floods I bought 2 packs of these as Christmas presents for my family. The window breaker part is nicely pointed just enough that it's sharp to pierce glass but not enough to cut yourself, the seat belt cutter is a blade like a box cutter, but its safely covered by the plastic hook housing to grab the seat belt.

I received the order promptly. The safety hammer looks solidly built. Fortunately none of the people who received these as stocking stuffers has needed to use them! I would give it five stars if I had a junk car to test it on.

Put these in Christmas stockings and everyone was glad to get one. All said they knew about them but didn't purchase and are glad they got one as am I.
