RealFlight 8 Horizon Hobby Edition: RF8 HH RC Flight Simulator Software Only (Controller Not Included), RFL1001

Although no simulator is going to be exactly like flying a real plane, this simulator is pretty amazing and it did a great job helping me develop the muscle memory I needed to not spend a fortune replacing broken airplanes. I can't imagine getting into this sport without some kind of simulator; I just don't have that kind of money. I was surprised how easy it was to edit the simulated locations--one of them had some trees that I wanted to remove in order to make it more similar to the real field where I fly; removing the trees was really simple. On the negative side, the documentation is lacking and doing anything more than the simple things has required a lot of trial and error.

Whether you're a beginner just getting into the hobby or an experienced RC pilot, this is a great training simulator! It has a lot of the popular models currently available, so you can practice your skills on planes, helicopters and quads/drones! Just in airplanes alone, you can try your hand flying gliders; gas, nitro and electric powered; EDF and turbine jets; amphibious and on floats! If you can successfully do a maneuver on this simulator, you will most likely be able to do it with your plane, saving you from expensive crashes and repairs! This is also a great way to introduce new and young fliers to the hobby! If you already have a Spektrum transmitter, just buy the optional wireless radio dongle and you can use it with the simulator! And when the weather gets bad, you can still "fly" in the comfort of your home!

I've had real flight for 20 years or more I recently got a new windows 10 computer And was having some glitches with My Old program Or software. So I upgraded to 8 Installed it up and running in no Time Runs great. Don't seem to be on a different then the older version but it does run great on the windows 10.

Really. I mean it. for the price it's the best investment when learning to fly. Crashing a real RC plane is expensive. This only costs you one time. Learn here if you don't belong to a club and then try the real thing once you have mastered it in simulation.

The radio it comes with is junk. Feels terrible in hand. The program freezes all the time. The selection of HH planes is very small still. The quality does not justify the cost.

I started years ago with RF4.5. The upgrade to RF8 was a big improvement. I was glad to see Horizon Edition. Adds some of the planes I own to RealFlight. Would like to see more of them in there. The disk I received was defective. Not a common problem with Horizon products, but as usual their customer support got me fixed up and going in short order.

The RF8 is awesome. There is nothing about the soft ware or the controller that I don't like. The RF8 Horizon has saved me hundreds of dollars in aircraft parts that I would have had to replace. The RF8 is a great flight teaching tool, and I would recommend it for any flyer no matter what level of flying you do.

Holy crap this flight sim is fun and has definitely saved me hundreds in real-life crashed R/C planes and drones. So many planes, drones, gliders and helicopters to choose from! I’m using mine with a Flysky FS-i6X and patch cable on a Windows 10 computer and so far no problems. Be careful with watching battery life on your controller. My Flysky lets me know when I’ve left it on, but It is very easy to drain batteries using this application then find yourself out in the field with a half dead transmitter.

The rf8 I would suggest it's a must to any RC Flyers starting out or even experienced Pilots it's a great product! Very pleased what the product highly recommended! Keep up the great work

Great training device. Good and inexpensive way to practice different types of moves, and different input control. Fly different models which react like actual crafts.

Bought this for my husband as a gift. It works really well on his laptop and the graphics and sound are pretty good. I would have loved to have bought the RF9 version, but it was not available in the UK at the time.Overall, great way to time fly by.
