AeroXcraft DJI F550 Landing Gear

Great kit, a must for F450 or F550 AP rigs. Just a couple negatives - It's strong but brittle. It won't survive a bad landing very well as it is very thin G10 fiberglass, not carbon fiber. I snapped a leg right off on one bad landing. I was able to repair with carbon fiber tubes, plates, and epoxy. Spare parts are NOT available from the US, but I was able to order replacement legs from AeroXCraft from their UK website. The shipping cost me more than the part though, and altogether, cost me almost as much as a new set of gear. I'll use my repaired set until they can't be repaired anymore due to the cost and complexity of the replacement.Would also prefer it to be just an inch taller. With a 3D gimbal hanging down from the front plate on rubber dampeners, my Xiomi Yi camera often hits the ground during the boot process. I fixed mine by covering the horizontal leg tubes with foam pool noodles, which raised the camera enough to clear the ground easily. This probably adds more weight than an extra inch of G10 material all around though.

Really liked this gear, have had it for over a year and my very heavy (3.5 kg with batteries) hexa has had many hard landings and absolutely no damage to the gear.Pros:I did not have to buy vibration dampers because I didn't see any issues with vibration.Cons:Wish it had slightly longer polls for mounting gimbal, on my 550 mm hexa I didn't have any props in the image, but when I extended arms to 600 mm I did see some props in the corners of the footage.Will but again, great quality and super light

I bought a cheaper set of landing gear before buying this one. the other was a major piece of junk. but they say you get what you pay for. this one went together well. instructions are online for assembly. which you will need. I like it because it gets the battery under the copter and frees up the top deck so theres little to no clutter. the battery holder can be moved front to back to get the aircraft closer to balancing especially if you have a camera and gimbal on the front. would be better if they included the foam dampers for the front and rear of the skids. otherwise it wants to teeter totter on the center portion of the landing gear framework. aside from that no complaints.

Decent gear and puts out my go pro 4 black nice. I have it on my 3DRobotics Hexacopter that org had their legs which are total crap for photo/video work. Now I can do anything with this setup.

This landing gear managed to snap during a not particularly hard landing. I'm quite displeased with this landing gear.

Thus is my 3rd set of Aeroxcraft landing gear nice design only wish it was available in all carbon fiber

I was not impressed with all the zip ties to hold it together and then trying to move the battery back and forth to balance the hex was quite awkward. I was expecting some rubber feet to stabilize the gear on a hard surface, instead it rocks back and forth on the edge of the carbon fibre struts. I would not recommend this as a stable platform for an FPV drone.
